I dont realy see a need in drop tuning bass. I play five string but even if its a four string as long as you play the notes of the key that every one else is in your gravey. Unless you just need an open D. But im no expert, and a good bassest may have defferent opinyons. I would think 100W...

Well i ended up getting the new york 151. And i think next ill stack another just like it on top. I had origanly planed on stacking two tens on top but this things got all kinds of punch, and i love the tone, so i cant see changing anything.

I use a cromadic tuner when im playing my upright. It helps, but im sure its going to be i wile befor im any good with it

I have the littel mark tube. It doesnt sound anything like a tube amp, but it does add a bit of wormth to the mix. Im happy with it. But some one thats use to tubes would probly be disapointed

It looks like this has already been mentioned but make shure you get a 35' scale. If not the B is just too floppy and useless. I also like active PUs. Singel coil or humbuckers sound great on fivers.

I love fresh slinkys. I keep my tone pretty dark, so the slinkys help brighten things up a bit

Yea i under stand that concept, but i wasnt sure if they had done anything else different as far as speaker or material used on the newyork series. They seem to be substanshaly(??) more expensive. And i cant see how a few inches would make a huge difference in the tone.

Its going to cost "some money" you can find the software for free, but you might get hacked in the process. And youll need an interface thats going to set you back at least a bill. Using the software is the hardest part for me. But im completely computer iliterit.
