    SBMM Stingray Short scale

Hollywood GC has a daphne blue short scale 'Ray on sale for $449. I played it and it was quite nice! Not really to settle on a new short scale but this is certainly a compelling option.

    Sire Bass Club!

Anyone with feedback on the U5? Or is there a U5 megathread? Mostly curious how the pickup balance is and how it hangs on a strap.

SOLD Stingray Special 4HH Ivory White

Selling this lightly used Stingray Special as I only really enjoy playing short scale basses. This bass is incredibly versatile with two humbucking pickups, five way switching, and 18V 3-band active EQ. Roasted maple neck is super stable and fast. New hardware and body sculpting make the...

    Franken P Blues..Oh Man!?

I agree with above post, get a new (Fender, Squier, or licensed) body and bridge to go with the neck and other great parts you already have. You won't get lower action with that bridge, and it doesn't appear to have standard mounting to make a straightforward swap for a regular bridge. I found...

SOLD Warmoth Jazz Bass Neck roasted maple/rosewood, loaded.

Ugh, I snooze and lose again, second time this week a neck I that want has sold right away!

Squier Classic Vibe Club (Part 3)

I looked for a while unsuccessfully, and gave up when I found something else. There's currently a Fiesta Red loaded body on Reverb, though.

    New for 2019 Fenders

Many of these models have resurfaced at CME after disappearing from Fender's site and elsewhere, including Traditional and Hybrid 50s and 60s P and J, and fretless J. No sign of the 70s J. Search | Chicago Music Exchange Link Removed Link Removed

Which pickguard with CAR P Bass?

+1 for black + maple or mint + rosewood combos.

Squier Classic Vibe Club (Part 3)

Anyone looking to sell a Fiesta Red 60's Precision? I just missed the last couple on the forum, and am really hoping to find this specific combo.

    Lakland Owners Group #69

Anyone have a lead on a pre-owned Skyline 44-60 / JO? Looking to join the club! I've wanted a Lakland for a long time and will finally be ready when my Stingray Special sells. There are a couple of nice ones on Reverb, the trans white and especially Sherwood green stack knob, but curious if...

I am surprised at how little I am reading about this bass

Bass looks great, especially the shell pink. I don't care for matching headstocks with maple fretboards or satin finished bodies, so it was never really an option for me. Which is too bad, because a Jazz and Stingray are my two favorite basses, and having them in one package would be awesome.

    EBMM StingRay Special Club

No, Stealth Black was the old Stingray (standard model, not Special) with the matte black paint, painted neck, and black pole pieces. I definitely wouldn't swap out the hardware no matter what I do.

    EBMM StingRay Special Club

I posted this one when I ordered it, pretty standard. I was thinking white or even white pearloid would look nice. Link Removed

    EBMM StingRay Special Club

My Jet Black 4H showed up today! I'm glad I heard the UPS guy coming, because he didn't knock or ring the buzzer, and the Reverb seller didn't require a signature on delivery. The damn thing is a killer. Came wearing some Dunlop rounds that are still nice and zingy - plays and sounds...

    EBMM StingRay Special Club

I was shopping against a few Stingray Classics, a bass I have owned and loved before. This one dipped down into that price range, so it was a no-brainer with all of the improvements they've made.

    EBMM StingRay Special Club

Welp, went and did it. Found this Jet Black 4H for an incredible price, now it is on its way to CA. I was hoping for Cruz Teal or Aqua Sparkle, but couldn't pass up a deal. Link Removed

    EBMM StingRay Special Club

Anyone seen a preowned 4HH for sale? I have seen a few 4Hs, and of course could finance a new 4HH, but I have an itchy trigger finger after selling my '78 P that I didn't quite get along with, and no other bass at the moment. EDIT: Looking again I see one in copper, but hoping for a different...

    EBMM StingRay Special Club

I'd probably pick a different finish if I bought new, yeah. But the instrument played and sounded great, even with a GC (lack of) setup and dead roundwounds.

    EBMM StingRay Special Club

Just played a sweet blacked out Special 4H at GC. As nice of a bass as I have played since I sold my Stingray Classic a few years ago. Would love to get in to one of these!

Which $30 overdrive (read op please!)

I scored an EHX Crayon on Reverb for $30. Pretty usable gain spectrum, and 2-band EQ. Worth a shot!

What is the nicest Precision bass or P-style bass you have ever played in your life?

I played a 60's American Original in LPB at Guitar Center a few weeks ago - so killer!

The Big Al was too damn cool. I loved the Albert Lee HH guitars I had, would love to track down the bass.

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

I have some Dunlop flats coming in the mail today for my '78. The few reviews I've found on the forum and elsewhere have been pretty positive, so we'll see how this set turns out!

MXR Dyna Comp Bass Compressor (Mini!)

I'm also intrigued by this. I had the MXR Bass Compressor a few years back and never quite got where I needed to go with it. Hopefully this simplified format will work for me. A couple of clips here - each time demo'ed after the new Vintage Bass Octave.

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

I think I want some clank to go with the thump, which is why I thought of Chromes. Would be my first experience with anything other than nickel round Slinkys - maybe bridging the gap towards a more traditional flatwound after trying them?

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

A bit of everything - alt/classic/indie rock, new wave, r&b, funk, etc. Rarely slap and never metal. Thinking of trying Chromes.

    Fender Flea Jazz Bass

Fender site showed $1100 or $1200 USD when it was up. Lakland Skylines, for example, are pricier and don't have a bag.

    Fender Flea Jazz Bass

I like that a lot. Played a lot of Les Pauls in my guitar days, love the 2V/2T control layout. Nice to see a unique finish for once, too, instead of burst, black, and natural.

    Is this a 72 Jazz?

    Yes!
