Yes, that is completely normal. If you switch instruments a lot you might consider getting a volume pedal or a tuner pedal that will gives you a mute feature so you avoid making any noise.

+1 Bass whammy reissue, or new guitar whammy (easier to sell)with a bass input and some of the more favorite settings from the bass whammy. +1 XO BMS/ deep impact reissue in a smaller package. A nano clone that works as good as the nano stone. A Tim.Com "fear this" stomp box.
