Exactly, if it's true bypass, when unpowered and engaged, your signal is "killed", and when unpowered and disengaged, your clean, pure, unfiltered, mountain-spring-fresh signal passes through unscathed by the effect. I haven't had any signal pass through either output while unpowered. ...or...

From my experience with mine, the mPOG isn't true bypass. If that were the case, it would bypass even with the power unplugged and be (effectively) a killswitch pedal, right? Because it doesn't do that.

Thanks Jared! Gregg: The fret pullers and the pickups were the most expensive, about 40 for the pullers, as they had to be ground flush and 100 for the pickups. The epoxy for the neck was probably about 15 and the paint was probably about 12. Overall, I'd say I paid as much for mods as I did...

I'm a fan of middle, myself. They've had some bad PR, but I think they're stronger. In all seriousness, however, when it comes to plectrum choice, I'm not too picky. I am a fan of the stiffer picks though.

When I got mine, it sounded pretty clanky, but putting some old worn strings on it helped a lot. I've been thinking about maybe putting some tapewounds on, but I like to keep a bit of the twang. A tweak on the truss rod helped a lot too.

I can't play fives either, I'm fine with fours or sixes though. (could be that balance thing) Haven't played one tuned EADGC, but the fives I've played have felt like "I can't decide how much range I want, but DEEP=GOOD" basses.
