Why do matched cabs work best? I thought people mix and match all of the time. I like the Aguilar, but the Epifani cabs I tried were a bit more transparent. Also, I hear (not sure if it's true), that the epifani cab is a bit quicker and punchier.

despite the clarity of attack with a pick, you should be able to use your fingers appropriately with your electornics to have a crisp enough attack that effects don't sound like mud.
