ok. i tighened the truss rod, it was really loose and lowered the string till it was too low then raised them just enough and it still doesnt seem like much. i even had to shim the neck up because i couldnt even get the string to bottom out with the saddles all the way down. My dad used something very very similar to that on a bar top and it was friggin hard as a rock. and he didnt have to sand or polish to get an awesome finish. just poured and cured. I still have it, now i dont know where to use it or my Mirror Coat....

The last clear went on sunday night and has been sitting for a couple days so i will probably epoxy it and call it done just cuz i have a gig coming up. Honestly, im not digging the highgloss poly... after looking at other basses more closely, i think i like a satin finish on maple necks...

at least here in Oklahoma it's not always that cold in the winter. Last week it got down to 5*F and today its like 40*F. people here always say, "If you dont like the weather in here just wait 5minutes."

^ Thanks, next time i will do it differently. probably a veneer. and not in the winter. ( wind chill is 5*F today.) so my clear (not pictured) takes forever to cure.

hey guys, i know this isnt a bass build or anything.. but i figured i would trust you guys more than other people. So, i want to build a cab, so would i want MDF or Ply, or something else? I know sub boxes for cars are mdf, but some (maybe all) guitar cabs are ply? or will i even notice a tone...

i bet you can easily get something cool with a 4. or at least make it more rounded and less pointy in 2 or 3 hours. I really recommend Cistrip. put it on for like an hour and the nuc-organ comes off and looks really nice. there is a good tut on that here somewhere.

Dude, i think there is enough wood on the new SX's stocks to EASILY scroll saw it into a tele shape, or at least give it some roundness so its easier on the eyes. scroll saw, citrisrip, poly. easy. easy sunday afternoon mod if you ask me. just my $0.02... I reshaped my SX Ursa headstock...

will a can give decent results? Everytime i use a can clear is looks horrible.

nitro: well can i just buy that in small amounts (how much is that stuff?) epoxy: What about Mirror Coat epoxy? i have brand new bottles of that! And i have a spray gun.... if thats what you mean by equipment. Thanks for the reply

THANKS!!! you mean trace that green piece of paper or my new HS? that piece of paper is a rough tracing of a Marcus Miller so the nut is like 1cm.I used it for the top and round part the bottom was hand drawing cuz it wasnt proportionate on the 5er.

yo, i was curious is there any Fenders with just the "F" logo, rather than the normal "Fender" logo on the headstock? i swear i saw that once.... If you know of any please post a link. i have looked and looked. thanks
