I sent the serial number (12406563) to Thomann and they told me to send the amp back. I also contacted the service center in Helsinki (Soundtools Oy) and they told me that they can't check the serial numbers and that I don't have to get the amp checked out unless it has a problem. I suppose...

I have one. I use it with a HyDrive 115 as a stack. Great combination. I've never used it on it's own on a gig.

I had one in the 80's. The original speakers were crap. I put EV's in mine. Sounded OK, but way too big and heavy. Modern cabs sound better at half the weight/size/price.

I use a 5210C + HX115 as my gig rig. I'm very happy with it. It's easy to transport and the setup at the gig is fast. Sounds great and is loud enough for the places I play.

I need to go lower than E in a couple of songs. I don't want to buy a 5-string bass. Could I buy a set of strings for a 5 and use the B, E, A and D strings on an old Tokai Jazz that I have? I obviously have to file the nut and set the intonation. Is there anything else I need to know/do?

I have a HA3500. I run it with Hartke XL210 and XL115 cabs. It's surprisingly loud IMO.

If you're drinkin' you might also be stinkin'. Don't look at the set list to see what the next song is while you're playing the previous one. Make sure that you can hear yourself and the guitar on stage. You shouldn't be playing G instead of F# without noticing it.

What brand of tubes are original in the LH500? I could of course open my 5210C and take a look but getting the info here would be easier.

My rig back in the day: 2 1x18" cabs (loaded with EVM-18) 2 Marshall 4x12" bass cabs 1 Fender PS300 tube amp 1 Marshall Major Plenty of low end and volume but not very sensible compared to today's stuff.

I had a similar situation recently. The guy actually just wanted to get paid for the parts that he used but I insisted on paying him a bit more. Why should he work for free?

NAD! I found a HA3500 today for a good price. B-rig: HA3500 + Hartke 210 + Hartke 115.

I have a Hartke 5210C combo (+ a HyDrive 115 cab). Why? Because Hartke doesn't make a HyDrive 210 cab.

You don't have to get an LH1000 for a two cab setup, but I would if I was getting a 410+410 stack. Depends on how much volume you need.

You can't really go wrong with any of those configurations. I have a 5210C + HyDrive 115 cab. I haven't gone above 5 on the volume knob on any gig yet. PS I found a Hartke Transient Attack 2x10 cab today for 100 EUR. :hyper::hyper:
