TRB5P / TRB5PII have the ebony board, and fancier wood combos but are thru-neck. the TRB5/TRB5 are more similar construction-wise but have rosewood fretboards. The JP/JP2 are the only bolt on ones with ebony outside of custom made ones, or the TRB Sakurai model (which is also a 6 string)

I think that used to be the case for some reason about 10-15 years ago but not anymore. I didn't get why it was so popular because there were better options available (PolyTune, some of the Korgs) at the time. I bought a TC PolyTune 2 about 12 years ago and its still the best tuner i've used...

thats a perfect ramp setup/position for doing double thumb stuff, but wow the screws are tacky like that. wonder why someone would go thru the effort of making a nice looking ramp and then just bolting it down with what look like a couple of cabinet screws. Nice find though!

Those Z6s were korean made right? the Heartfield stuff was all MIJ to my knowledge. Those Z6s look much more similar to the Ibanez SR1206s from the 90s (not the indo premium models but the original ones): SR1206 (1994–1996)

Ive been eagerly awaiting for them to release their 5/6 string models. The 4 string models, in addition to only being 4 string models have too weird of a headstock for me to look past, but the 5/6 string designs they have outlines for seem to have a much better headstock design.

Just took delivery a Eclipse Artist 6 with a graphite neck (I believe) from a guitar center a few states away. Unfortunately there as some fretwork issues on the upper register. I took it in to see if they can plek it out without having to do a full refret. Hopefully they can, and I can hang on...

oh man, one of the things that makes me hesitate on the CR6 radius is the one piece saddle. Excited to see that this has all the strings getting their own saddle, *and* is fanned fret.

When i buy basses I often do things like upgrade the stock tuners to ultralights. When I do that and later sell the bass, I never try to charge more for it. I've even included the original tuners a few times, cause I have no need for them. I'd also never pay more for anyone else' mods.

i literally play hours a day and with higher action it makes my wrists hurt and lower action doesn't, simple as that.

yeah i havent had to shim my TRB6, but i got the 24th fret action at like ... 1.25mm on the high C and a bout 2mm on the low B. Adding 1.1-1.5mm to that seems absurd.
