It sounds great! I wasn’t sure what capacitor was on the pot for the Gibson dc tribute I used as reference, so I installed whatever I had that I thought would work but the difference when I use the push/pull is subtle to none. Gotta figure out what this is

Pickup route complete. I used a template for a thunderbird style Gibson pickup but it was slightly too small compared to the dc tribute bass pickup. I started it with the template then placed it around each corner opening it up to fit. I went to the same depth measured from the dc tribute bass...

Thanks for the info! I do have a friend that works in a metal shop that could do it I just don’t have an example to go off of. I was definitely considering that. I reached out to Ampeg but got the autobot reply, they said I could ask sweetwater. I shot my rep a message we’ll see what he says...

Hey all, I’m sure this has been asked before. I purchased a ‘96 Ampeg SVT Classic from reverb, works great just missing the original backplate/grill. Does anyone have a link to an authentic replacement? It does have a makeshift metal cover but I would like to get an original if possible.

Here’s some progress on the jagstang bass. Custom pickguard now, routed the neck pocket, shaved some contour, drilled the bridge mount and string thru, just have to route the pickup cavity then paint.

I didn’t see any dates behind the pickups & they are basically adhered to that brass plate I didn’t want to peel it apart so I just cut a piece of backing down the center and placed it in to raise the pickups slightly. You can see that white wire bridging the volume to tone was disconnected...

Nice! I totally agree. You already know I had 3 tabs open. Reverb, ebay & straight google. The pics he sent were fuzzy so I was narrowing it down to 77-79 based on the headstock logo. He thought it was a 72

He got lucky. Someone could’ve taken it right off that porch without saying anything, it was in North Philly. In all fairness, he took it to a local shop who offered him $700 but he knew I have a collection & wanted it to go somewhere it would be loved. So that karma is well balanced now.
