    RIP Heiko Höpfinger (Basslab)

Oh no! Wow. I had a Basslab Jazz 5 for a little while a few years back and it's insane how lightweight that monocoque construction is - whole thing was 6 or 7 lb if I remember right. RIP to a true innovator.

The "In the Queue-Custom Bass Waiting Room" thread!

My medium-scale McGrath Thunderhorse has arrived! It's not as fancy as some others, and since I wanted a solid white bass I couldn't avail myself of ms Madelyn's awesome artistic skill, but it's quite nice. Little heavy for me at 9lb 3oz but I'll deal because it's so good everywhere else...

Henry the 8x8 vs beat up 810e

Best of both worlds: I'm currently long-term-borrowing an Ampeg VB-88 (8x8) cab at the moment and it's phenomenal. Weight is very close to the Darkglass 210N I'd been using, super easy to pick up and swing around, and IMHO it sounds great too. EDIT I apologize, I had not noticed the budget...

For sale Source Audio C4 Synth with DMC Micro Pro

Well, I love some of the sounds out of this unit but I'm just not jibing with it. I factory-reset both the C4 and the DMC when I received them, so you'll have to reprogram the DMC (my apologies!), but after that I did burn a couple sounds to the regular switch slots on the C4. Everything is in...

Short joke songs that should have full versions

Several of the snippets that make up TMBG's "Fingertips" at the end of the Apollo 18 album would make hilarious full songs I think. Course, I do recognize that some of them are hilarious solely because of their abruptness.

    DMC.micro PRO programming question

Instead of making a new thread for this I'll just necro this one to ask a question, as I just got a C4 and the Micro and I don't quite get this part myself. It arrived to me preprogrammed for the Micro to scroll up and down through named presets, but it seems they're all stored as bypassed...

well, they ARE way harder to find, but i do trust. Even a Ric is 33 and change! My #1 favorite bass of all time is a 34, so it's not like I've been exclusive with any scale in particular =0)

The "In the Queue-Custom Bass Waiting Room" thread!

I too am waiting for the very same! I tout shortscales a lot, but I have realized medium is even better and I'm starting to replace basses with 32s. Full disclosure: even though the Thunderhorse came about in collaboration between McGrath and our channel, I'm not getting the bass for free...

    Les Claypools Fretless 6 (Pachyderm?)

$8700 for the black 4-string version; who knows what the kind Les gets would cost. It's a ridiculous amount of money, but I fell in love with that damn bass at NAMM and am half trying to justify getting one for myself next year for my 50th bday.

    Les Claypools Fretless 6 (Pachyderm?)

Definitely looks like a Pachyderm, but Ms. Wells (who makes them) told me that at least for the time being, the only one they're selling to the public is the "sleek" model, in black satin 4-string.

Good quality square head silent soft-touch / soft-click footswitch to modify a pedal

    Beetronics Quality?

I really like the flavors they chose for both the fuzz and the OD sides - they sound great and you've got a dry blend knob right there; alongside the od-fuzz continuous blend on each side you can really fine tune and tweak both channels' sound, but I'm just a simple OD on one Fuzz on the other...

    Beetronics Quality?

I don't own one myself, but I've got a Royal Jelly at the moment on loan from the channel stash, and it feels really high quality - the knobs are all solid and smooth, all the interactive touchpoints feel very sure, nothing jiggly. The stuff that seems to be all looks, too, gives you a sense...

I'm a huge GZ fan and am seriously thinking of getting this, to put next to my hello kitty fuzz. It'd be in a blend loop with my wah though so the lows stick around.

    MXR Bass Synth Pedal

I know this is probably a dumb question, but is there any alternative for patch selection on the MXR beyond that single-button extension? One of the reasons I didn't bond with it was having to toe the tiny button a bunch of times to get from one preset to another. What I would want is a box...

    JHS Punchline

Just picked up a Punchline a few days ago and man, I am quite enjoying it. IMHO it does both the Sansamp and M80 thing, with the Amp Sim sounding somewhere between a sansamp BDDI and like 85% of the M80's Color button mojo and an even better Drive section. The compressor is also simple and...

Looking For A Heavily Saturated Bass Fuzz!

I don't think they did a direct replacement after the Jupiter v2 - though it looks like you can still get that one readily on Reverb. From their current lineup, the Eons is different, but it is fairly versatile IIRC so you might find your ideal sound somewhere in there.

Do you like sharp-yet-corpulent gated fuzz? I'm tellin you, try the Fender Hello Kitty fuzz. Start with the knobs all at 5 and tune to taste. I absolutely love this damn pedal. We made a video on it actually, after I bought it and discovered it was great.

While I'm selling a digital multi and have gone back to actual pedals (again) this still piques my interest. I can't figure out if you have to store the 'effects' (filter and chorus) in the preset as-is only, or if you can have the presets include them, but make them switchable on/off within...

So, I may be biased, as I'm part of The Bass Channel and of course our head guy Chris started the whole Thunderhorse (3-pickup P) thing with McGrath - intended just as a one-off "what if?" idea at first but then it really took off - but Cormac is just a solid dude and I am really happy for him...
