    Verellen Meatsmoke - Clean tones!

I use my MSPre relatively clean, it does clean remarkably well and gives a ton of life to any dirt added before it. Love it to death!

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

I can finally toss in for one of them fancy P Member #s! My very first bass was a RondoMusic SX fretless P, didn’t think I was missing too much by not getting a real deal, and went after every bass but a Precision....finally seeing Failure live last week changed my mind, Ken sold me on getting...

    Pedaltrain Metro24 with Tour Case - $99

Was looking for a flat board I could mount above my Moog and found the Metro24 with the ATA case for the same price as the soft case. Thought it was a fluke on Amazon but Sweetwater has the same deal now! Pedaltrain Metro 24 TC 24"x8" Pedalboard with Tour Case Can't find any other PT boards...

Happy with a “Boss only” pedalboard!

People rag on Boss, even I used to...but You don't become the Industry Standard by sucking. Many of my favorite bass tones throughout the 90s and 00s were usually Boss. Chevelle's Joe Loeffler used an ODB-3 and has one of the best gritty modern rock bass tones that I still never get bored of.

    DSM Mini Omnicabsim ahead

It's also able to be always-on; which was a tiny neusance for me for my in-ears setup. I'll definitely be picking one up to put at the end of my chain and tuck in my amp head rack for in ears, and probably put my OCSD back on my board for the FOH DI

Do you like preamps and use them and if so what do you use?

I didn't think I'd ever bother with them, but here I am, with 4 preamps in my chain. My Primary, my love, my eternal flame, is the Verellen Meatsmoke preamp. Hands down the most beautifully sculpted tone I've ran through. Running this into a GK RB700II power section yields an immense sound...

    ***Club Verellen*** - Part Deux

Yeah I got bored today and flipped them around. Channel 2 is a lot more tame but Channel 1 lost a bit of it's oomph. No free lunch :(
  12. NoxNoctus

What pedal will you go to your grave owning?

Cali76CB. Close close close second would be the AO Ultra.... .....unless I can count my Meatsmoke Preamp. Then it's that above all else until the end of time.
  13. NoxNoctus

Which Preamp? DG A/O vs. B7K vs. ?

I've yet to find a pedal-sized pre with a headphone out that doesn't have some hiss in the headphones. Even my OmniCabSim has hiss on it. AO Ultra would be my go-to. Cab sim is changeable, drive is tasty and organic, EQ is immense.

    ***Club Verellen*** - Part Deux

I feel a fool. For the longest time I was running my Ch1. Master Out on my MS Rack Preamp at around 3:00 or so, because that's how I used to run the pedal version when it was on my board. It sounded good but deep down always seemed like something was missing. Lo and behold it finally occurred...

Which reverb for both guitar and bass?

+1 on Ventris. I use mine between bass and synth and it's just absolutely immense

I balked a little bit at it too but I've come to appreciate its girth. It's really not THAT much bigger in the scheme of things but it has it where it counts

The Official Sterling by Music Man Owners Club

Might be a fluke or just what they're doing to newer bags, but the material they made the zipper pulls out of is really low quality. I ordered a Gator Transport because I have a huge leather strap and my Darkglass AOU that I take along in the bag for practice at home. It'll still work for...

The Official Sterling by Music Man Owners Club

I revoke my positive comments about the Sterling Gig Bag lol. Within 5 uses packing my bass to and from practice over the past 2 weeks, the zipper on the main pocket popped off the track and the actual zipper pull metal cracked off on both main sipper and the front pocket. Least the padding is...

Official Darkglass Club: Welcome to the Darkside

I upgraded from the AO and I'm glad I did. It was my favorite dirt, and it was just put on steroids. I didn't even think about how much more flexibility the 6 band adds vs the 4. Very musical, incredibly powerful.

How is the overdrive on Zoom multieffects?

They're no bueno for the most part. Some can add some grit with some liberal use of blending, but you'd be much better off with a cheap dirt pedal going into the zoom

Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra vs BK7 Ultra V2

I think you'd be much happier with the AO. There's really nothing smooth about the B7K. AO can get pretty warm by comparison. I've owned both circuits, miles happier with the AO sound. May be worth comparing the Vintage vs AO?

    OFD vs aftershock vs ?

Aftershock is really an awesome pedal. The effects quality is greater than the OFD, SA will tell you as much as well. As for how true the emulation is....it's not bad. I don't think the Darkglass emulations are on point but I think that depends the tone it was "captured" for I guess. The...

    Sterling SUB ray4 changes

Just got my Ray35. I was not expecting a non-flagship brand to be so high quality. The build, the finish, the sound are all top tier. If it didn't say Sterling on the headstock I'd swear it was the real deal.
