People rag on Boss, even I used to...but You don't become the Industry Standard by sucking. Many of my favorite bass tones throughout the 90s and 00s were usually Boss. Chevelle's Joe Loeffler used an ODB-3 and has one of the best gritty modern rock bass tones that I still never get bored of.

It's also able to be always-on; which was a tiny neusance for me for my in-ears setup. I'll definitely be picking one up to put at the end of my chain and tuck in my amp head rack for in ears, and probably put my OCSD back on my board for the FOH DI

Cali76CB. Close close close second would be the AO Ultra.... .....unless I can count my Meatsmoke Preamp. Then it's that above all else until the end of time.

I've yet to find a pedal-sized pre with a headphone out that doesn't have some hiss in the headphones. Even my OmniCabSim has hiss on it. AO Ultra would be my go-to. Cab sim is changeable, drive is tasty and organic, EQ is immense.

The MBD-1 sounds incredible with my Thumb BO...but the Alpha Omega seems like it was directly made with my Warwick in mind

I upgraded from the AO and I'm glad I did. It was my favorite dirt, and it was just put on steroids. I didn't even think about how much more flexibility the 6 band adds vs the 4. Very musical, incredibly powerful.

They're no bueno for the most part. Some can add some grit with some liberal use of blending, but you'd be much better off with a cheap dirt pedal going into the zoom

I think you'd be much happier with the AO. There's really nothing smooth about the B7K. AO can get pretty warm by comparison. I've owned both circuits, miles happier with the AO sound. May be worth comparing the Vintage vs AO?

Aftershock is really an awesome pedal. The effects quality is greater than the OFD, SA will tell you as much as well. As for how true the emulation is....it's not bad. I don't think the Darkglass emulations are on point but I think that depends the tone it was "captured" for I guess. The...

I'm done buying NEW dirt...I feel like I've reached the pinnacle of dirt choice. Darkglass Vintage Ultra, Alpha Omega, Damnation MBD-1, Verellen Meatsmoke. I can't see it really getting any better than this.

It's gorgeous in person! The gig bag's pretty nice, not quite as nice as Warwick's Rockbag, but it's well padded

Just got my Ray35. I was not expecting a non-flagship brand to be so high quality. The build, the finish, the sound are all top tier. If it didn't say Sterling on the headstock I'd swear it was the real deal.

Shortly pulled the trigger on a Ray35 after seeing this. Impressive stuff.
