Reiner Amplification Gasoline Bass Overdrive

Unfortunately I haven't had time to take it to any kind of band practice as Im about to move and don't have anything going on but I have used it on some recordings here at home just messing around and have spent some more time playing around. Damn it's good. What I really love is the transparency and treble on tap. I play mostly with fingers and pretty much all my dirt pedals kind of sound somewhat muddled but the Gasoline retains much of the clarity with my finger style, which is new to me and something I really dig. I can definitely see why people keep this as their always on tone shaper and run it into other dirt. It is really really killer when stacked with my MBD and my Annex, although it doesn't sound quite as good with the Darkglass AOU to my ears. This purchase was worth every penny.

I’m glad it’s working out for you. My goal in addition to clarity/transparency - or maybe it’s part of what contributes to it depending on how you look at it - was an overdrive characteristic that maintains dynamics, and clips in a manner that doesn’t become fatiguing over time - where you can you can forget that it’s on.

From Friday night up in Harrisburg PA. The gig almost didn't happen because of a water pump problem at the bar, but the plumbers eventually came through. We started late so we played one 2-hour set. I'd just started to tear down when I realized I hadn't taken a photo, so here's the quickie.

In short: I didn't use the dUg pedal. I went with MBD-1 into Gasoline. Such a killer combo!

I like variety and rotate a bunch of dirt pedals from my collection, but the Gasoline is in my top 3. I used it at both gigs last weekend.

If the floor looks the same, it's because it is. I played the same venue last Friday and Saturday, two different bands... those coinkydinks happen sometimes. A nice benefit was that I was able to leave my speaker cabs there overnight!

I really don’t think so... I’ve never seen controls like on The Gasoline. It’s pretty unique.

Sure, at some point but I'm focused on getting the Saturn V out there for the foreseeable future. I'm sure you will be able to snag one in the mean time if you are patient - there are 14 out there and probably a third have been flipped at least once already.

Saturn V is what I think I am going to call the new 1200 watt tube hybrid head! More exciting than “VHF1200”, and I think the voicing and features have shifted enough to warrant new name. Haven’t thought about what to call the tube head yet...
