$100 Bass Challenge - Marceline's Axe Bass

Chop sticks from your Chinese takeaway, bamboo skewers, toothpicks, dead sticks from your shrubbery around the house.....want metal markers; coat hanger, 14, 12, or 10 gauge household wiring....you could take some of your scraps from the build and cut splinters from them and have mahagony markers.... stuff thread into the side holes and saturate w/CA....You're very creative, I'm sure you'll come up with something.

Or a just a few dots with a silver Sharpie.:D

That....

Was AMAZING!

really...good job!

Now if you would... Go back and remix the bass in a bit hotter, especially during the first half ... I could barely hear it.

Edit... I'm sorry, I just listened again with headphones...I could hear the bass fine.
(cheap speakers)
And the bass sounds good btw...!
Nice tone ...full clean low end ...not much in the way of any high end but that could just be the amp setup.
Mids a bit scooped too but I like it like that myself. Now I know why I couldn't hear it the first time , there was hardly anything in the frequency range of my crap phone speaker...lol

BTW...What do you mean you're not a singer??
You might not call yourself a singer...but you CAN SING!
IMHO:)

I was playing through my Micro VR head and the SVT-810 cab. For some reason, I think only the top 4 speakers are playing. The bass was set to full volume, and the blend was in the detent, right in the middle. Live, I like the sound. Yes, I agree, nice rounded low end. I think the highs might have been missed by the mic - it's the supplied mic from Presonus in their package. The setup still needs some tweaking - I'm getting some fret buzz (or would that be fingerboard buzz) when I dig in, which might also account for the lack of high end through the recording. I think I may have a bit too much relief - I'll try dialing that in better over the next few days. Anyway, to my ear, a pretty typical jazz bass sound.

OK, I'm putting this out there. Just keep in mind, I'm not a singer...

I must admit mapleglo, I had to do a quick search on the song and I was pretty sure it was a Marceline tune, and yep, sure enough - found a quick YouTube video. You have a very sweet voice and man, you nailed it1 You sound just like her and the bass sounds great!

You are gonna knock em dead at Comicon!
