$100 Bass Challenge - Marceline's Axe Bass

Maybe I missed this earlier, but...how are you gonna carry that around the floor?

My husband is dressing up as Simon Petrikov (The Ice King before he turned into the Ice King) and that character has a back pack. Coincidentally, the amp is the exact size of the interior of that back pack.

Of course, having a henchman or two also sounds like a good idea :P And a flux capacitor.

You should use a wireless, then the two of you don't have to walk around tethered by a cable.

I can see a tether being a problem too. I don't know how crowded it gets there, but I can envision people trying too cut between you two and tripping up on the cable, injuring either themselves or your rig (maybe both.)

Yeah, a wireless would be cool. I saw one at MF for $70, a Nady. The receiver runs off of 12 VDC, so I could run that off the existing power supply. I'll see if I can scrape up the money for that. I still need to get a preamp also.

Something that just now occurred to me about using a wireless out on the floor - you might want to check with the site's security service and find out what channel(s) they operate on, just in case, unless your wireless unit only carries a few feet. Some years ago and at my industry's show in Vegas, a wireless mic unit used in one booth was set to the same channel as floor security and things got...adventurous at one point.

Good idea. The unit I'm looking at comes in several channels. It's a VHF frequency. Though, I wonder if I'll run into an issue asking what frequency they're using. They might see that as a security threat "event".

edit: or maybe I'll just tell them what frequency I'm using and ask if there will be any issues.
