1200W Forte HP

Having messed around with two other killer new amps with the 1200w ICE module (Arkham Beast and Reiner Saturn V), I am REALLY curious to try/hear a Forte HP. The feature set is so smart. Jim got that big brain, as usual.

Actually there’s a profile in the forte’ and forte’ HP. NONE on the BAmp is a perfectly flat response.

Given your choice of 800 and 1.2k, I think you will be very pleased with the 1k factory freq for the HiMid. That being said, there's also a very useful choice for the bright freq at 2k, which Lee has been very instrumental in determining thru many exhausting listening sessions. With a Pbass this may be all you ever need! ;-}

Yeah, I’m also a minimalist and rarely move any frequency boost/cut knob on any preamp more than 1 o’clock off flat for subtle adjustments. So, I’m sure the factory presets on the HP will be perfectly fine.

I'd probably go 80, 400, 1000, and 2500. Maybe 80, 400, 800 and 1500 as a second choice.

Don’t forget this amp has 2 switchable bright boosts...one at 2k for nice, mix cutting high mid ping and one at 7k for a more traditional slappers delight.

Sorry for what may seem like a dumb question although I wasn't able to find the answer on Jim's site.
I do have an HT322 but it is sometimes a bit much for a smaller gig.
Understood thst the Bamp has the ability to change the EQ profiles for a specific Berg cabinet.
What if you use brand X cabinet?
Is there some sort of default?

Lastly, let me get this straight.
The power amps on both amps are class D yet they behave like a lead sled (slam if you will).
For the most part you guys use very little EQ even with the Forte (non cabinet specific curve).
This is Talk Bass correct?
No EQ fussiness?
Ironically two of my favorite amps (that I've kept since the 80's) are an SVT-Cl and a SWR SM400 (which was useless before a HPF).
I use very little if any EQ on these.

I have owned a number of Class D amps and sold them all with the exception of the 800 Fusion which is just OK.
Full disclosure, I have not tried the Mesa offerings in other than a quick store demo.

Could it be time to test the Class D waters again?
It can't be too risky considering the resale on these amps.

LOL! Actually, the review schedule for Bass Gear Magazine usually dictates which gear I bring to a gig, but yes, it can be a bit of a dilemma, 'cause I want to give it all some love!
