Ooops! Looks like I may have "sprung forward" to April 1...

That, I just like to give Jim a hard time.

I haven’t even seen where the are on preorder yet. Did I miss something or should I just contact a Berg dealer?

Thank you...Finally somebody says what I experienced owning one and believing all the hype..not cheap $$$...and I was never thrilled with the soundThe PLX2402 was mentioned in this thread in a non flattering way, and I agree 100%. It was QSC's first attempt, I believe, at a SMPS to lower amp weight and it was the big "fail" IMO, regardless of what one QSC employee/TB member here tried to explain away as gain matching. I had one new in a box in my shop for the longest time and couldn't understand why so many players where bridging this amp to get even close to the capabilities of our then HT322 cab. I finally took it out of the box, plugged it in, and was horrified! Even next to their 300watt @ 4ohm class A/B amp it was "no contest". The more I turned the PLX2402 up, the harsher and worse it sounded. Sure it was louder, but it lost all the warmth and yes, "slam", you would expect from such a "powerful" amp. In fact, trying to eq more bass in only made it worse because it caused it to drain its current capabilities even quicker. Back in the box it went, and I honestly don't even remember what I did with it. Maybe I left it behind when I moved! ;-} And to be clear, I was always a big fan of QSC's earlier designs. For years I used their 1400/1700 series and later their MX series with great results.

1.) In regard to the HP's USB port for updates. It may be obvious to some but I would like to know what functions are updatable? I would think the BSD, filters ??
2.) I wonder if anyone has experitmented how to "get close" to any of the Berg Profiles with the provided EQ on the 700w Forte? Probably not but I had to ask at the risk of sounding completely uninformed. I believe that those profiles are created via DSP and are most likely very complex. Further I do not believe that the profiles are there 'only' to make it easily accessible. So.. I'm probably quite far off the mark here. Be gentle .. smart people LOL. (For the record I'm using a pair of NV115 beauties.)
Myself and other have said they like it simple but I hear so many B|Amp users rave about the Profiles. I have not tested out the B|amp to hear the difference on and off. I would still have to try it in a live mix. If it is that much better than I'm sure some may be waiting for the 1200 watt version that may or may not ever be offered. I once owned an IP310 knowing absolutely zero about DSP. I used an Aggie 659 and a Demeter 201S. My experience was not favorable and I always ended up not using the DSP in a live mix. That is not to say it was not great for others. Fully aware that things have come a long way it has kept me from trying the B|Amp. It would be the profiles that I'd be after as I am not intimidated by the extra features even though I like simple.
I'm pretty excited about the HP and just hanging around to hear some feedback.

Very well said Rod.

you don't HAVE to go adjusting the EQ Frequencies if you don't want to. I think I set a couple of em where I wanted em months ago.... I leave em there unless there's a specific reason for extra attention
Ok, thanx, I'll take that.
You're right in your comments below that tho... and mayyyybe MY comments above, basically say that too, just in a long winded and convoluted way
I find that I "plug n play" the BAmp WAY more now that I've got it set for me, and the recent updates are SO good. I'll look at the start up sequence onscreen, make sure it's set on HG410 or NV215, whichever one I'm using, and then it's game on. Rarely do I need to adjust the EQ, and even if I do, it's 4 band....L,LM,HM,H... even I can cope with thatyou don't HAVE to go adjusting the EQ Frequencies if you don't want to. Adjust the HPF if the room is boomy...
THAT'S a bonus tho, and a one button push to adjust.
Again, even I can do it.
MUST be simple!![]()
I almost never use the profiles on my Bamp, sounds great anyway.Reading through the thread again.

1) I guess everything is updatable, it will depend on whether Jim sees the need for an update somewhere or not. I'd guess there might not even be plans to update it at this moment, it's probably there just in case it's needed.Reading through the thread again.

AFAIK it's all digital, from input until the power amp. Not the kind of digital we used to have in the 90s, though, this is very high quality and not a compromise in any way to my ears.Forgive me if I missed this in my quick review of the thread just now, but is the signal path of Forte HP all analog or is there some analog-to-digital-to-analog conversion going on?
