1200W Forte HP

I hope this makes sense .
To me it doesn't matter how large or how small the #NUMBER of watts there are inside the box. 700, 800, 900 etc. whatever is etched on the front panel of the amp doesn't matter to me. I've have had 350 watt Lead sleds that SLAM.
What matters to me is , will the amp drive my speakers the way I expect it for said power rating. PERIOD!
If i spent my hard earn $$ to but a certain amount of watts in a box. I expect xxx amount of watts to drive cabs a certain way.. Not only make it sound the way i like , but I expect to FEEL a certain way at low volumes but especially when a demand is put on it .

I Digress! HA

I think the 300 watt (on a good day) SVT or even Mesa Walkabout illustrate this very well.
Lowish output power (assuming some reasonable distortion figures) but a stout, thick, slammy kind of sound.
Couldn't get this with the 3-Pro, LMII or others (IME).

Wow
Hard to believe that 24 65
Speaking of watts not telling the full story, I am anxiously awaiting my time with the demo unit of the upcoming Forte' TP (Tube Power). :bassist:  :hyper:

Wow, 24- 6550's with associated hardware at 6.4 lbs?
That would be called magic.

Billable Watts?
My former wife used to talk about billable hours and look where that got me!

Jim, any realistic idea when the first of these Forte HPs will be shipping? The vernal equinox is rapidly approaching, and I'm getting pretty stoked here! Also, if an all tube powered Forte is really in the pipeline, the sooner we all know the better, so we can start selling kidneys and stuff.

The “tube vs solid state” discussion on TB is nearly like debating religion. Which, we aren’t supposed to do the latter for good reason. We do the former; but, it usually is pretty much equally pointless. Cats’ minds are already made up.

As passionately as we debate this topic, I very much doubt the audience can tell the difference. But, I do understand, respect, and participate in the quest for tone. I can only applaud the efforts of Jim and other amp designers for their continued efforts. Lots of great options these days.
