Went to my impressions appointment, got rejected due to too much wax. Turns out I had a pretty bad blockage in both ears that I never noticed.

Long gross story short, I am wax free and have an appointment again for next week. Eventually I will get the A4's I paid for weeks ago, haha. Also I can hear super high frequencies a lot better now, I'm a super hero I guess.

I think everyone should have a wax removal kit. For 'maintenance' it's just a couple drops once a week. For build up, it's a little more in depth.

Trust me, based on experience and my OCD motivated research, do not use q tips or stick anything into your ear (aside from your custom molded on ears of course!)

Our drummer recently got a "professional" cleaning and it radically changed his ability to hear. it took 20 minutes to clean apparently. so gross.

I had an appointment to get it done. They reccomebded I use the ear drops everyday to soak until I went. after the 3rd day of 20 minute soaks I used a bulb syringe with hot water to blast it out. My wife checked and its spotless in there now, so no need for an appointment.

Alright, I'll stop talking about it now haha! Just wanted to share since I've seen it shared before and it seems to be common, but I had no idea I was affected.

Debrox is the normal recommendation from audiologists.. cleaning the wax out is as simple as liquid (warm water and hydroxide soln) in a syringe squirted [CAREFULLY] into your ear canal. Then you get to throw away all those ear babies that come out.. LOL :oops:

So... it's taken a while, but I'm REALLY beginning to LOVE these A8's coupled with the REV33 device.
They sound AWESOME with canned music and I've been able to adjust - and get used to the impact the ADEL's have on the sound!
Yes, I've bumped up my bass levels to compensate some.. but overall, these things are knocking it out of the park!

I finally got my impressions done and mailed off! Now I play the waiting game. I hope 64 accepts them I don't know what they are supposed to look like as this is my first pair, but I did notice very very tiny 'cracks' here and there like the mold didn't fill all the way in my ear canal, is that normal?

I should have taken the photos and sent them in, but I was in a rush to beat the mailman and just mailed them off.

Also, I had a weekend on my current IEMs (Shure 315) and they sound much better with clean ears.

idk, but as long as the "shape" of the canals is good, etc. then perhaps you are fine.
They used to do molds by trimming the impressions and dunking them in acrylic and letting them dry.. I now believe the impressions are digitized and shells are 3D-printed.
If you are concerned about the cracks.. you could call and ask them their opinion.. ???

That's great to hear you are loving them; the anticipation for my A8's is definitely building up. 64Audio applied the faceplates last week on 5/26 so the only steps remaining before they ship are to apply graphics, buff, and perform quality inspection...I hope this is done within a week's time.

I've only had a total of about 5 hrs (2 of them with full band) to play around with my A4s and Sennheiser G3. This was my first IEM experience and I love it so far. But I definitely don't understand my new rig yet and I have a couple of questions though and thought this group could help me. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read!

1. my bass signal was only coming out of my right IEM. i noticed this today when i was playing on my own. I can't remember having this experience the last time I played. I bridge my WT800 into one mono channel. When I pan the bass channel to the left on my mixer, i hear almost nothing in my left ear. I tested the left A4 on my phone's audio out and it works. any ideas?

2. i'm getting some high pitched squeal when i move around. is this normal? i thought one of the advantages of wireless was the ability to move around :) i don't think it's signal strength related, but it does seem to be better when line of sight is clear between receiver and transmitter.
