I like that it has a lockable 3-pin XLR input, has belt clip, is relatively small, and battery powered. What do you guys think about this peice of kit? I'm curious what y'all are using for powering your in ears.

I use the Invalid Link Removed one with no issue. Two XLR's, which also allows you to use a Y-XLR connector from a board, or take an individual signal from the PA and your bass DI/amp. Built in limiter that works (I found out with feedback and dropped mic) and a line in from MP3/laptop for practice. Super cheap now given the EURO rate. Highly recommend.

No noise at all, which was the problem I had with the Rolls units, even with lift engaged. (I know others don't have an issue with rolls, but some do).

My biggest complaint though is it uses jumpers instead of switches for ground lift and stereo/mono. That to me seems a little ridiculous in this day and age. It became an issue at a gig recently when the tool I had with me wasn't long enough to pull the jumper. The show went on but that bar always gives us fits with ground loops and it would have been nice to at least try and get rid of that hum in my ears.

That's another reason why I switched to the LD Systems amp. The Rolls was a little finicky that way.

I was/am also hesitant about the quality and reliability of the mini-5 pin connector, but I haven't had issues in my 2 months using it. Granted I never move outside of a 5' radius while playing, so YMMV. I do like not having 2 XLR cables minimizing bulk at the pack.

I've been thru the wringer with wired solutions.. some of which have no embedded limiters, etc.
Too many cable runs, varying levels to set to get the volume/blend/mix correct.

While I agree that "GOOD" wireless isn't cheap (I use a Senn G3), it sure is simple to use.. no setup (beyond the initial config), no cabling at a gig.
Our IEM transmitter(s) - yes, we have a few - are housed in the same rack as the console, with outputs permanently wired in stereo.
Plug n' play.
I turn on my receiver, adjust the volume. Play.
To be sure, it doesn't make sense to go wireless IEM's if your bass is wired, but being wireless for both REALLY makes life easy.
If you gig regularly with the same band.. IMHO it's worth the investment.

My "solution" is that I control my IEM mix through the Mackie Master Fader App on my iPhone/iPad. (I use a Mackie DL32 mixer)

It's more of an individual process control, but every time I put my IEMs on, I make sure the fader is set to no sound. Using the A8s paired with the REV 33 (or even without), I do not need to have my IEM mix loud at all.

Got it. My problem is not always having a digital board, so I need a very personal solution to protect the ears :D

Which is why I have a brick-wall limiter set on my X32 output busses, and the built in one on my G3 receiver.. ON!!

I also listen at real low volumes, so not even sure if the limiters have ever been tripped.. but they are set just in case !!

Rich, have you found the need for the REV33 with those? I'm stuck.. even with meeting their CTO and running measurements on my A8's.
I have done 4-hr club gigs with and without the REV33 (with the A8's) and honestly can't notice any difference - which is why I went to them to begin with.
The difference IS very noticeable with my Qi's.. but not the A8's.
I'm wondering if the ADEL tech (basically adding pressure compensating ambient ports) is decreasing the ear fatigue much as the REV33 would do with a completely sealed IEM like the Qi's.
No scientific evidence.. just an observation that I'm posing.. hoping you have some feedback..

I honestly can't tell the difference. Now that I've had them for close to 2 months, I wanted to give the REV33 guys a call to hear their thoughts. I noticed (or should I say, "didn't notice") no perceivable change with/without the device from the 1st time I used it. To be fair, I wanted to give it an honest run with the REV 33 for at least a month of using it and then switch back to just the A8's to see if I could tell the difference...so this past weekend I played without the REV 33 and still did not perceive any change. Perhaps the ADEL tech makes the REV 33 redundant/insignificant.

That is the question I have.. .
As I mentioned.. obvious difference with a closed-ear custom (Qi's).. the A8's.. no noticeable difference here!
You could reach out to them to see what they say ??

Well....I ending up ordered the presonus hp2. I wanted to go with the ld systems hpa1 as it has direct connections for left and right XLR (no dumb mini 5 pin jumper needed like the presonus has) AND the hpa1 has a built in limiter, unlike the presonus. The snag with the ld systems hpa1 is they have extremely limited distribution in the USA. I'm talking you call the distributed and they order direct from Germany. I was quoted a minimum 30 day lead. I needed something by next Friday. So the lack of availability forces the presonus. I would like to go wireless, however I can't justify the cost for an acceptable wireless unit. I guess I'll give the presonus a go. If all else fails perhaps I'll try the ld systems hpa1 once it's availability is better for the USA.

I got it from Thomann in less than 2wks IIRC. it wasn't a long wait actually.

Do t! I remember thinking "geez, it's here already?" There are various shipping options, and I didn't do anything more than standard there. Removed the belt clip, added some Velcro to put on my board/amp and voila.

So a quick follow up to my A4's.

95% of my issues with the fit and discomfort has completely gone away. I hardly ever use even a qtip in my ears so they must be overly sensitive. I've made sure to wear them almost every day to practice, clean house, yard work, etc.

Left side fits perfectly, no more issues. Right side still has a slight sealing issue. Almost like the bottom area is ever so slightly too small. Contacted 64 Audii and they are gonna take care of it.

Probably the best part, I finally got to use them live with a full band and not just at home or recording. They sounded so freaking amazing! I could push the kick and bass without being over bearing or obnoxious for lack of a better word. Normally I have to EQ stuff so I can hear more high end since the low end stuff gets muddy and nasty at higher volumes. Not the case anymore. I actually heard the low end of my bass clearly and loudly. The kick and rest of the kit sat nicely, plus all instruments were easy to dial in, seemed no matter where I put anything else volume wise it sounded good and clear.

Plus anyone that knows or uses a Meatbox, these handle it no sweat.

So happy with these.
