Congratulations! I have admired those since my earliest days as a bass player.

My first Rick, which I got while in high school, was the one in my avatar. I finally sold it after 38 years of being it's caretaker. The new caretaker is having it totally restored and will look fabulous once done (the bass, not him ; I don't know what he looks like, anyway).

Welcome to 4005 club!!!! and a 66 to boot....here's mine...not totally original (replaced pups and tuners) but a great bass anyway...she's FD =1966/April.

I bypassed the 0047 cap and what a difference (although some prefer the factory sound.) Your case looks to be in great shape as well (mine's a little more worn) Anyway, that's a pretty good deal and a pristine looking bass...congrad's

I rarely post in the Resource forum but have been there for a good number of years . That black WB 4005 was an institution ...

I have only owned one Ric , but it's a nice one . Nothing special , it's a late 4001 , but I do love it . I have a good selection of other basses , but there is something different about Rickenbackers .
