It addresses specifically those folks who like a more complex, maybe more "sophisticated" midrange character of a 3 way cabinet.

This kind of stuff is hard for me to describe without sounding more like a marketing guy (which I am not) rather than a technical guy. Each player would probably describe the sound in a different way anyhow, so that's my attempt.

So what you're saying is Roger will be in here in a few right? ;)

Ken isn't part squirrel?
Well, he puts nuts in his mouth.......:hiding:

Andy, are you saying you turned down that offer to be the new Sham-Wow! guy? :smug: :p :D

I'm a marketing guy. :D But, I'll speak as a bass player.

Neither here nor there but, this is my favorite cab out of our entire line. I love the Uber 4x10- punchy as heck, it LOVES to be pushed hard, and it really barks.

The Uber Quad though, is the most 3-dimensional cab of our line though. It sounds very, very fat, quite warm, with lots of depth and dimension.

When I play slap bass with my Ken Smith, the high mids no longer kill small animals.

My buddy Mike misquoted me a bit, and I gave him some s***, so he gave me some back by replacing the misquote with......:D

I'm drawn to these mid driver cab threads now like a moth to a flame... or maybe like a squirrel to a nut!

:D

fixed this for you...and ken...

With the amount of detail paid to mechanical coherence between the drivers in the cabinet and cooperation with the crossover, etc., I guess the ability to biamp (with something like a stereo head with variable crossover) would be less than optimal and excluded?

Can you describe the crossover in basic terms, Agedhorse? 3rd order high/2nd order low, something along those lines?

Don't have my docs with me but when you look at the acoustic response there's initially a first order transitioning to a second order LPF on the 12" driver, there's a first order HPF and a first order transitioning to a second order LPF on the mid drivers, and IIRC a second order HPF on the tweeter. The crossover from lows to mids on thye mid driver is pretty low to capture some of the low mid feel of the 8" driver. Can't go into any more detail than this.

So, Fretno thinks it's sexy that Roger is gonna string up Ken by his nuts, for a pre-op by chicago mike so he doesn't get killed when slapped by Ken Smith?!?!?!
And Chef likes it? And such?????
Also Roger has Doctors at the ready and putting them in order and something about the feel of 8 inches.....
Tom did mention though that Andy would clean up with Sham-Wow's so I guess were kinda ok.....
This is getting weird.
Or am I mis-reading these last few posts????

Wasn't this about a new Genz Benz cab at one point???

Very funny Mike. Working a gig tonight and laughed out loud at your post. Other techs gave me "the" look.
