1x15" cab needed

Shipping cost might be expensive,just chiming in of course. I have Ampeg 115 Cab,8ohm.

The clone head has a cabinet in black/tan, so black seems right for the cab, ideally with a tan'ish grill. Head looks a little retro. The most important criteria is of course classic B-15 tone, and for my head, the cab must be 8 ohms. Obviously I'm aware of the commonly known cabs like Aguilar, Mesa, Bergantino, Revsound, Form Factor, Eden, Markbass, Trace, Ampeg, etc, so I'm a little more focused on opinions about lesser known builders, but specifically what y'all think are cabs focused on the designs and tonal characteristics of the B-15.

I owned an Eden 115-T, I wasn’t impressed nearly as much as I am with their 210 cabs. You can find them or the 115-XLT (tweeter) pretty cheap, they might be a tad above your weight requirement but they are lighter than the 210 cabs by a good amount.

If I were looking for a 115 cabs. My search would start with Mesa 115. Good value, well engineered, great technical stats, and solid build. JMO. Best wishes.

I like the description on their website, but you're right, the aesthetic isn't right, and it's a 12. I'm using a Barefaced Big Baby 2 now (12), so I'm not considering a 12. In fact, one of my options will be to try to trade the BB2 for 1x15" I find. Or, I'll sell the BB2 and buy a brand new 1x15". THX!

This is all I can find, but seems to be focused more on their new head than the cab. Sounds good though!

I hope I don't sound like I'm trying to sell an Acme, I'm not.

The Acme's B 2-10 and single 12" cabs produce a flat (+ or - 3 db) 41 hz. Which means they can faithfully produce the open E string and if one plays a 5 string, they produce the open B's 31 hz @ -6 db.

Very, very few bass cabs can do a faithful 41 hz open E....even ones that have one or two 15 inchers. (When I bought my Acme Low B 210 cab, I found my "holy grail". Blind fold test, you'd swear it's a 15.)

Anyway, good luck on your 15 inch cab quest!

I have a custom-made B-15 clone preamp and a pair of Bergantino NV115 sealed cabs, each supplemented with 6” midrange drivers. It is difficult to imagine many other cabs that deliver the low-mid punch these bring. They are very aesthetically attractive in an understated fashion, and each are 8 ohm cabs rated 400 watts RMS. I go through a Genzler Magellan 800 head. But alas, they are about 53 lbs a piece, so they are a little more portly than you desire. That’s due to ceramic drivers, but in my opinion, ceramic is the secret sauce.

I love your enthusiasm. The Barefaced 12 does the same. Amazing! However, there does seem to be a subtle difference between the 12's and 15's no matter what the specs are. Of course I could just be fantasizing?????

These are always in the back of my mind. It has always been the weight that kept me away.

Anybody familiar with VBOUTIQUE cabs? Looks like he builds cabs for 5-6 boutique amp companies. However, his 15" cab has a rectangular slot/open back, so not sealed. Any opinions here about that sort of design for my goals? My initial thought is no-go, but open to the opinions of the more knowledgeable than I. SEE BELOW POST
