2 AMPEG 810e's????

On a large stage with my Black Sabbath Tribute, I will commonly use 2 810's stacked on their sides, powered by 1 SVT II. Just sounds very clean and massive for that style of music, not to mention, adds to the visual stage effect. Brings women to thier knees. Makes children cry and turn purple...

Why do people stack them on there sides? Is it not the same standing up side by side?

Really! How many times have I played with a guitar player using a 1oo watt marshall and two 412's!!!

I guess I was lucky...back then, our guitar players (2 of them) both used Marshall, but only one cab per.....still, I always LOVED the sound of the 2 cabs loaded with the 215s....I know, I know...they aren't as "efficient" as 10s......but damn, they sounded good!!! :D

Now, if needed, I can put together a 810 and a 610...rarely happens, but if necessary.....I CAN cut loose!!

Not a whole lot of 215's around nowdays, though the MESA/BOOGIE looks like it might be awesome.

But it's like swimming in it. :)

Oh I get it, but that is a LOT of cab to move to swim in it.

It's not about the sound, size, or necessity of it all. It's about the weight. Period. Everything else can be accommodated. However, there is only one me to move that level of firepower.

Enjoy!

This is where the balance of volume and portability comes up. I myself enjoy a good bass bath, but I wouldnt enjoy moving two 810 cabs. I accomplish my bass bath with a single cab. But for anyone who wants to haul a $hit ton of cab, I say its time to punish the audience!

I think I posted this already but I did a show last year with an old 70's SVT, two SVT classics, and three 810 cabs.
Overkill? You bet. I only ran two and the other was for looks. ;-)
