2 Notes Opus

If I'm typically using just two different sounds, would the Opus work fine, with out the Revolt? Opinions please. Thanks
I think the analog ReVolt Tube Bass Preamp is great and really nice to be able to use the 4 cable method if you have an amp. It is also great to use for a clean/dirt option or a dirt/dirtier option. Also, if having a single great 8x10" cabsim works, as well as, a clean DI with a 1/4" out with an effects loop connecting to other pedals or just the C.A.B. M/+ being totally legit. Midi is limited but very useful.

OPUS, is digital and midi capable. Having access to various TSM preamp and power amps is way beyond other offerings in the market with huge selection of DynIR cabinet options. The recent Genome environment is a next level experience, but Wall of Sound is more likely to be a sufficient tool of the live performance musicians. Bluetooth, stereo aux in/headphones out (same as ReVolt) and can be placed between head and cabinet (power restrictions apply). No effects loop.

To your point of only using two sounds on the ReVolt Tube Bass Preamp. It's all I used at any one time. Also, while I have OPUS options for the six (6) rigs I have stored. I only use no more than two at any one time anyway...if flavors matter, then OPUS could be better and is about half the size...but, the ReVolt Tube Bass Preamp sounds great, has a feature ya can't get with the OPUS and has features ya won't find on many other analog preamp pedals, like that not just for show tube!

Having both could be cool, too!

It's great for that. I use OPUS like a 3-channel device: 1 preset most of the time, -1 for amp/cab bypass + reverb (synth sounds), +1 for dirt. It responds to PC messages so a 3- button midi switcher does the trick.

Thanks for the awesome reply. I’m probably going with the Opus

Pretty tough

OPUS | Sound Bites | Peggy

Clean Ampeg to a heavy type Ampeg like the one in the Two notes Opus video.
Thanks for getting back to me. This is actually a preset on OPUS from John Connearn (Digital John) - when you regsiter the unit, the preset is available for download on the registration email! :)

Thanks for the info on the registration email downloads. I completely overlooked them 😬 and wouldn't have found them otherwise. Cheers!

@Ross Davies

Cheers,

I have a question on the Reload II...

The amp input (200 watt max) actually need to have a power amp signal or just a Line Level to use as a mono full-range input??

I'm wondering if I can get traction with a preamp signal into that load box input and the wet post OPUS stereo effects chain into the A & B Line Inputs with stereo setting to the cabinet output?

Thanks!

Great question. The Amp input cannot be used for a line source as this could actually damage the loadbox; however, there is a pair of Line Inputs which can be assigned to each channel independently letting you run a Line Level source through Reload II's architecture! Let me know if this helps answer your question!

I had the Opus and Revolt together and they sound amazing, especially with the Opus in the effects loop of the Revolt.

With that said, I got rid of the Revolt and kept the Opus. Couldn't part with the Opus and the trade was one of those in a deal for a jack casady bass I've been trying to get ahold of for some time from a friend.

In the end, I found the Opus does everything i want and more!

Well that sounds like a sound choice indeed! So pleased to hear OPUS is working out well for you! :)

Hey all been busy for a minute, but catching up. After a lot of tweaking, some swearing, and many trials and errors, I got some great sounds and have had SEVERAL compliments on how this Opus sounds.

Quick add that I haven't seen yet... and i don't know if anyone else does this or not. I like to mix some different preamps to make tonal possibilities. You have to be careful with it, but the tones one can achieve by doing so are amazing! Does anyone else do this? If so what are you mixing together and for what kind of tone?

Currently, i mix the foundry bass with my GK style preamp (Dicosimo). I can get that fender romp and the GK FAT lows and it just sounds amazing! I have mixed it with the aviator as well and let's just say I'm pleased.

I have a few others I use as well, but this are my go to.

Again, you have to be careful with this if you haven't tried it. Gain settings or master settings need turned way down and slowly raised to adjust for tonal options. And you find a specific part of the tone you like with the pres, then mix them for the final outcome. Neither will sound right alone.

Sorry, I'm not a technically inclined writer. Lol

Sounds very interesting!

I don't have any other tone or preamp pedals.

I bet a Jad Freer Capo would make some awesome sounds run either in front of or behind the Opus.

Of course, I would assume the HX Stomp would as well.

Mixing preamps on my side is a mainstay in my rig - at the moment I actually blend an OPUS Aviator with Channel 1 on ReVolt Bass and the results are killer - Aviator handles the upper mid-range while ReVolt Bass provides a solid low end. I just run a splitter before both devices and have been doing this for quite a while now!

That is a really nice combo there too! You get the darkglass twang with that clean tube goodness!
