2 Notes Opus

Correct. Here are my settings for the vintage dirt channel with Cab and Preamp disengaged. The Power amp, EQ and enhancer are engaged.
Thank you for clearing that up for me!

Very cool!

If I have a great sounding bass and amp (model - Opus), I at least want the option of passing that to either FOH or a semi-transparent reproduction device - I was considering a good active PA speaker that's relatively portable (either with or without the Opus power amp section - adjusting the levels if with the power amp section).

Anyone use a power PA monitor for on stage, especially if the PA is suspect as to bass reproduction?

I use a powered PA speaker/monitor so I have a more accurate idea of what I'm sending to FOH or my recording interface. Ditched the amp and haven't looked back.
I use a Yamaha DBR12 and it handles band rehearsals in a pretty loud 4 pc at less than 50% volume. I have also used a QSC 10 with excellent results. I tried a smaller Headrush and it was farting out at moderate volumes. As long as you get a quality monitor you should love it.

Thank you very much!

Just to clarify, when you say "By doing this you will disable the cabinet emulation but retain use of all other processing blocks!" - does that mean you can still use the "the EQ and enhancer adjustments"?

I think that is what @NorthTexasBass was saying.

BTW, I just ordered an Opus.
What are the steps for setting us an account and access to the software suite - I assume I will need the HW serial #, which means having the unit in hand?

Thank you for all of your input and help!
You most certainly can!

In terms of getting all the software, I would advise waiting until you have the unit - then download the Tortpedo Remote Desktop Variant from here: Torpedo Remote - Two notes

Once you have your unit, connect it to your Mac / PC and follow the in-app prompts to register your unit / create an account.

If you need any more info, let me know and I cant wait to hear what you think about your OPUS!

I know we were talking about workaround to get the EQ before a DynIR when discussing the dummy DynIR. That has been the fly in the ointment for some is having EQ/EFX before the DynIR.

I'm solidly in the OPUS camp! :cigar:

Understood! We actually have the movable EQ noted as a top tier feature request and this is with our Dev team now! I cant guarantee anything at this stage but I am feeding back all the valued requests from our customers whenever I get them! :)

@Ross Davies

That's good to know...I had never disengage a DynIR, but had bypassed the preamp/power amp section and only used the DynIR cabinet on the DI. Of course, the 1/4" I have only the preamp section.

Q: Do you know if the outputs are setup differently can the one without the DynIR cabinet still use the Post-EFX EQ on that output? Or is that limited to the DynIR cabinet output?

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately the Line output routing for the 1/4-inch output is fixed to a linear terminus so you cant run it without cabinet emulation but with the Post FX. Regardless, I have fed this back to the team now!

Hi guys, Just thought I would mention, we just launched a Discord Community which is proving to be quite popular - I am on there all the time so if you want to drop me a message in real-time, hit up TNAE here: Join the Two notes Audio Engineering Discord Server!
It popped up a button, but when I clicked it I got an error "Unable to accept Invite".

I'll try again later.

I received my Opus today and I've been listening to different presets and trashing some to make room for my own custom presets.

There is an awesome amount of tweakability in the Opus.

It sounds really good and covers any OD &/or compression that are the types I'm interested in!

Getting the hang of how the different sections of the device interface work together.

I only have headphones to use with it at the moment - I could run it into my mixer to check out the DI and I probably will after I've created enough presets that I feel like I have everything I might need covered.

So far I have been preferring the two Foundry models with or without the PP6L6 power amp.

But I did 9 major presets and then modified some existing ones.

One's very Marshall Major sounding ala Jack Bruce (but not quite as nasty - I don't really care for really over the top distortion).

One Semi-Darkglass, one SVTish, and a really tubey sounding Vox amp (surprised me).

I did submit a ticket - I get failure messages when trying to load the regular "fridge" cab.

There's no rush, the only two cabs I sort of like are the marco and the blonde 63 (sounds really good with some foundry & 6L6 stuff).

Most of my presets, to me, sound better without cabs - I think maybe that's more of a guitarist thing.

I made one preset that is EQ only.

I'm thinking about getting a TC Electronic Spark Booster, because I play with a fairly light touch and I've been running my Cort B5 in passive mode.

Thanks for getting back to me. I did see your ticket this morning and the team are altered; they will be jumping on this ASAP!

I actually run a boost ahead of my OPUS unit sometimes and it works great - great for driving the TSM preamps a little more and applying some subtle revoicing! I have used the Spark too and it works a charm!
