2 Notes Opus

Thanks for getting back to me. I did see your ticket this morning and the team are altered; they will be jumping on this ASAP!

I actually run a boost ahead of my OPUS unit sometimes and it works great - great for driving the TSM preamps a little more and applying some subtle revoicing! I have used the Spark too and it works a charm!
Thanks!

Good to know about the Spark!

The latest correspondence with the help team resolved the issue with the cab not loading!

Thank you for your help!

@Ross Davies

What are the Names of the Clean Preamp and Clean Power Amp?

If I don't see them in my loaded elements, how do I find and load them?

Is that what the Opus defaults to if you uncheck the 'Preamp' & 'Power Amp' buttons?

Thank you!
Hey John, Thanks for getting in touch. Our Poweramps are all configurable as clean provided you dont crank the volume too much on them however the clean Bass Preamp is called Foundry Bass - you may also find you get a lovely clean from Peggy. Can you see these in Your preamp list? If not, please connect OPUS to the desktop variant of Torpedo Remote and select the update prompt to update OPUS to the latest firmware. If you need any support with this, please let me know!

Ok.

I misunderstood your use of those terms, I thought you meant like transparent amplification, but you are speaking (in my mind) more in what guitarists would call 'clean'.

I understand now.

In my mind 'clean' would be like Phil Jones Bass head (like BP-800) - a little bit of warmth, but relatively transparent amplification.

That would be a great way to build a tone around EQ-only that still has a bit of push as an alternative to tubish tones.

I've found I can get almost there just using cabs, mics, and EQ, but I'm still searching for a really clean cabinet.

The cleanest one I've found so far is the Romanum2, but still looking.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks!

Noted and thanks for clarifying - Foundry Bass as a TSM Preamp is definitely something you should try - this is my go to as it is a high headroom clean with zero breakup that just fattens the tone a little. On the cab front, I actually tend not to use one if going for this kind of tone, instead focussing on the Custom EQ to shape the sound. If I do use a cabinet, it is usually a 1x15 with a single dynamic mic on it: Don Broco Evo 115 Neo - Two notes

Let me know if this helps!

I just ordered an Opus today and am looking forward to using my Morningstar MC6 Pro Midi controller with it. As luck has it, Morningstar has already done most of the programming work for me with the Opus and put out this video with links for the banks and presets! :hyper:

Very cool!

I hope you enjoy your Opus - it has amazing versatility!

I have uploaded 5 presets (thus far) to the Two Notes Opus server - their names begin with IBJD... :
