2013-14 NHL Regular Season Thread: Second Period

Paul Martin with the game winner, and he did indeed look solid on his shifts. I saw the CAR broadcast. They said he led all Pens in ice time in the first period.

Philly and Boston lost last night, so a good night for this NHL fan. :D

After watching most of the Toronto - Boston game I'll have to admit that I was wrong about Toronto. I thought after last years SCP series with the B's that the Leafs were an up and coming team and the Habs were on the downswing. I had it backward.

Toronto did not look particularly fired up (except for Paul Ranger - and probably some others); although they took a 3-1 lead with 2 goals that were more of the ugly variety (not undeserved but both had an element of puck luck to them) and one pretty goal but then they sat on it and let the B's tie it up in the third (not the first team the B's have come back against but still...). There was a little more jump in the Leafs in OT and they came away with 2 points but I don't see them coming out of the first round assuming that they get there in the first place.

I like how the B's came back to take a point. They should lock up the conference over the weekend.

A couple good games tonight as the season winds down. Come on Devils, you can do it.

I turned on the PIT/COL game last night and thought it was a Baby Pens game. With the Colorado broadcasters, they made no mention on why all the Pens stars were sitting out.
