2013 Ampeg V-4B 100W Reissue Pt2

Just to let you know, I created an entry, Ampeg Clubs, in the list of TalkBass Wiki's. Click on wiki at the top of the page, select List of all wiki pages. It is at the top under A.

Although this wasn't started as an official V4BR club, it seems to have grown into one. I thought that I should list it.

Very cool David. If you are looking to add more, there is also an SVT-II appreciation thread and The Love of Scroll Basses thread - there may be more that I cannot think of right now.

You are hugely appreciated!

This past Saturday in Oakland. Went direct to the board. That mic is there because our guitar player records everything. Amp sounds fantastic. I was having a problem with the amp "farting" but that went away by simply lowering the pickup on the bass.

The PF50 is all i need at this point. Its got all the tone the V4 has, just in a smaller package with a couple more tricks. I play in a band that is pretty volume attentive. We have a relatively low stage volume as most of the PA's we play have fairly crummy monitors. I could never use a V4B at full volume in my current situation. I can use the PF50T at near full volume which is AWESOME.

Cons of the 50 at this point is transport, which is a small issue really. Its 20lbs, not 60+. You can put 20lbs into a small padded gig bag and be fine. The V4 needs a case IMO, because it needs to be carted to transport safely. Still lookin for the right bag for the 50T.

If i was in a touring band, id have the V4B no question. I play the same bars every friday and saturday 48 weeks a year. The PF50 wont work for everyone, but its certainly a swiss army knife amp for me!

That is a great pic. PBass --> V4b --> 212AV is about as good as it gets in my book!

I picked up my first 810 to go with my V4B. I was looking to add a second 212AV when I found this cab for a great price. The seller thought it had a blown speaker because one of them was buzzing. I took the speaker out and found a wire against the cone. It sounds as great as everyone says they do!
