2013 Ampeg V-4B 100W Reissue Pt2

Does anyone run the v4b into two PF115he cabinets? It looks like the v4b will 'hang over' the edges of the cabs by about an 1 1/2" on each side, which is no big deal to me. Just wanted to see what the real experience with this combination was, tone wise?

I would think it'd be pretty nice. I had 2 pf115he cabs but sold em... Cool time but they don't handle a ton of power but with the V4B and especially using 2...that'dbe no problem.
If you want two 15 cabs get two of the SVT 115s. Fits perfectly since the V4B footprint is the same as an SVT. The SVT cabinets cost more but worth it IMO.

My experience with these cabs is that they have handled everything my PF800 and TH500 have thrown at them. I'm thinking they'll be able to cover with the v4b just fine and hopefully deliver a great vintage Ampeg tone.
I've been lusting after the V4b for months, so I took the plunge today and ordered one, hopefully it'll arrive in time for my gig this weekend. If it's as good as you guys say I'll be in tone heaven!

I had that same rig when I first bought my new V4B. I ordered a second 212AV about a week after receiving the V4B and first 212AV. I gigged it twice and it was pretty darn nice, sounded huge. I soon found I was mostly only using one 212AV to gig. So I sent back one of the 212AV's
and ordered a 112AV instead. I used a 112AV+212AV w/V4B a few outdoor gigs last summer. But again I found I was mostly only needing a single 212AV for most gigs. I then bought a lightly a used 112AV from a TBer. I used two 112AVs+V4B for a few gigs. But as I've said here a few times already, I found it easier/quicker, for me, to move the single 212AV cab And I wasn't using the 112AVs at all.
So I recently sold off the two, 112AV's and still use the V4B+212AV occasionally. As things happen, I've been getting booked for these lower volume restaurant patio gigs. Just for the easier schlep factor I again ordered a new 112AV from SW, it shipped out today. I could've continued to use my GB NeoX112T but I'm just stupid about the matchy-matchy thing I get with the 112AV+V4B. And I've got a few micro-amps, just wanting to use the V4B more as it hardly gets used since the small amps are easier/lighter to haul around.
Actually, it looks pretty cool when I roll up with my folding cart w/4" rubber wheels hauling the V4B+112AV on it. I leave it on the cart while on stage at gigs. And of course, looks aside, this smaller rig sounds real, real nice still. I only use 5ers and this little rig works great. I was very close to buying a 210AV but was told here, I just might be pushing that single cab too hard with V4B and my 5 string basses. So I go with what I know; again.
Looking back now, I should've kept the two, 212AV's and just used two as needed. But looks like I'm back to a 3x12's rig if or when I might need that. Fun stuff. peace y'all, e.

But I think I'm finally good, again, with my small-med-large cabs' inventory now. I just gotta quit being so lazy and take the V4B to more gigs. It sounds so nice.
But on rainy day gigs, too often lately here in TX, or long-haul (loadin) gigs, its' just so easy to grab a Mini-Mega 1000 and kill a room with that powerful little amp with any of my cabs. But I'll try harder in future gigs to bring the V4B; really. Peace y'all, e

I do the same. I've a blues/jazz gig Wednesday nights that's a BIT of a hassle to load in. ..so I've been taking the TH500 ... after a day at work, you know how it is?
But tonight I'm taking the V4B. ... well, it's in the car anyway. Trouble is, the Aggy is in my gig bag - always. And if I'm lazy ........

I've got a heritage fridge, should be a good match for it. I've also got an old trace Elliot 410 that I can use for smaller gigs and practices.
Yes that'll be awesome! I use my 810AV sometimes and its killer!
So I'm finding there is a gap in my cabs. Some gigs I am really pushing the limits of two 210avs but it's not the kind of situation I need the 810. Any thoughts to what would fill the gap.
Last Christmas I purchased a V4b RI. I often use it with a sealed 410", my gear dealer built for his customers about 30 years ago.
I love this cab, it is an Ampeg 810" Flatback cut in half. Used it as extension cab with my SWR Redhead, long time with a GK 400 RB, and with an Orange OR 120.
This cab matches so well with the V4b RI, I will bring this cab to a Custom Cab Builder and ask him to make me two of them, because this old cab is made of massive boat plywood - and a schlepp. I hope, that this Cab Builder is able to make some 410" sound like this old love of mine. This would be absolutely perfect.

I have just ordered a Barefaced Four 10 since I currently don't have a 410 in the arsenal. I was impressed by Tom Bowlus' review of the Barefaced Two 10 which he said was like the 210AV but "more" on every front. My 210AVs won't be going anywhere but I have a feeling the Barefaced with my V4B on top will fill the gap nicely. The Barefaced is intentionally voiced to sound like a sealed cab for use with tube amps, which makes it particularly appealing.
Well cool, thanks Sweetwater music co. for the fast, like 2.5 day shipping/arrival of my new Ampeg SVT112AV. I connected this small-ish cab to my V4B and ran thru some tunes. Man, so nice what I'm hearing and just in time for my bands' rehearsal this coming Monday and Cinco de Mayo restaurant gig next Thursday. Hey here in TX, any excuse to party, we do it.
I have a biker bar gig this Sat, big storms threatening, again. If so, the Peavey MM1000 will get the call with my BF Big Twin-T for the quicker schlep. If rainy weather chills, I'll haul the V4B+212AV cab out for a spin. I just sold off my two, TC-E RS210's this week and the TB153 is sold later today. Was hard to do but kinda necessary......wifey said.

Wasn't paying attention, had to edit my post to make more sense. I was at a DHL-Crawfish/Beer party tonite, so was uh...distracted when I first posted this.
