I have and it does hang over a bit.
But it's not the hanging over that bothered me, but the fact that the feet are too close to the edge of the cab for comfort.
(so I rest the V4B on the lid of a flightcase for stability).
Soundwise though: Absolutely wonderful and great, volumewise: you can get way too loud, if you want to!

IMHO, your miles won't vary :D

Not a great photo! I ordered this head from Thomann in Germany on Tuesday evening and it was with me in the uk by Friday lunchtime. What a fantastic service, plus it was £100 cheaper than anywhere in the uk and the postage was free!
Sounds great playing at home but I get to wind it up a bit at a gig tonight, can't wait!

When I say "woolley" what I mean is just an overbearing low end that just fogs up the stage. With 210AVs that wolley-ness also limits how loud you can get before the cabs start sounding ugly. This is less so with the V4b alone but the tone and sensitivity isn't the same. The HPF set into the preamp out/poweramp in with the V4b has a similar benefit IMO. I don't run it as a pedal because I don't want that effect on my DI

Question to the 212AV users...
Do you guys play with the horn on/off or attenuated and why/why not? I've never owned a cab with an adjustable horn like this before, and was a little unsure of where to set it. I experimented with the settings last night at practice and was mostly in between attenuated and off (for my personal tastes), but since it was a brand new cab I was still settling in a bit. I am used to the (sometimes boomy, and loose) low end of an Orange 410 so I think I was just having a difficult time in general finding the right place to sit off the bat and perhaps expecting some more beef to the cab possibly(?) It didn't help that I put new strings on before practice and I hate the zing of new strings, but I definitely think some amp eq adjustments are in order...

Whaddya think? Horn on/off? Why?
Also what type of tone/style of music do you go for, and what eq settings on your V-4B?

I leave the horn on full (0 reduction). My settings are relatively flat with Ultra Lo engaged. I typically roll off the tone control on my Sadowsky to adjust brightness as needed.
Now that I have a second 212AV, I'm not sure if I'll run horn on both cabs wide open. I'll start with them wide open and pull back to suit. First gig this Friday to experiment.

I don't have a 212av but have a 610hlf and other cabinets with horns. My general rule is always turn the horn off...my personal opinion is it adds an "active" feel to my passive bass. You get that clicky sound...I seem to be able to eq enough mids or hi's with horn off.

My Barefaced Four 10 cab just arrived, and I would have to say that my V4B has never sounded better. I did not expect to say this. I already have a 212AV and a pair of 210AV Ampeg cabs, and I recently sold a 410HLF. All of these are great cabs but the Four 10 just matches so well to the V4B, and the eq points on the V4B match nicely to the Four 10. Tom Bowlus wrote that the Two 10 is like a 210AV but more , and this is true. My pair of 210AVs won't be going anywhere, absolutely love them, but the 212AV may be moved on as I can't see me using it now since on a practical note the Four 10 is smaller and lighter. The 212AV has a slightly more aggressive midrange than the Four 10 which some will prefer, but the Four 10 has a vintage character which suits my style perfectly and is intentionally voiced to sound like a sealed cab, rated for 1000 watts which I can believe. Not suggesting I will stop using Ampeg speakers at all, or trying to start a Barefaced vs Ampeg argument, just stating that the V4B is a fabulous match with this speaker - actually it is a fabulous amp which has not sounded bad with any speaker! Just love my V4B :bassist::bassist:

Will try to put something up at the weekend, Rod. The Barefaced cab is almost identical in size to the 212av, but about 3" shallower so it is all a good fit. I got a black metal grill, could have got silver cloth but the metal is obviously stronger and I actually prefer its appearance over the cloth when put side by side with the 212av. I cannot get over how good the V4B sounds with the Four 10, but I suppose I am an "old school" player so it does fall right into my ball park and so efficient and LOUD (if you want it). I will post a pic with the V4B on top in the Barefaced thread, don't won't to appear to be hijacking this one.

The V4B sure does get loud with enough (& especially ) efficient drivers. I'm sure it's louder with my 2 Fender Bassman Pro Neo 115 cabs than it is with the 810E. Dunno. ...could be me. ...but damn. .. it goes good :)
Still. ..not quite the THUMP of the Super Bassman but still gorgeous.
Glad yr liking the BF410 don't be scared of freight and by all means send it over fir be to try out, anytime you like. ;)
