Agreed on the deeper/lower for the 112AV. In fact I had edited my post to include that extra comment. To my ears, the 112's are deeper/lower. Huge low end to me...both are awesome.

IMHO, IME, when pushed, the SVT112AV holds out better, but they are close.Anyone know how the SVT112AV's compare to the 210AV's in terms of volume? Which is louder?
To my ears, about the same. Close enough, anyway, that if you used 1 of each, one would not bury the other in volume.OK, deeper and lower but not necessarily louder?
I have a pair of 210AVs and I really like them as well as my restored flatback SVT810. I've owned and auditioned many other cabinets as well. The pair of Berg NV115s are my favorite. I was patient and got both at a greatused price on TB.
Great!
Tonally / sound-wise, are the 210AVs close to the Flatback?
Never had the chance to A/B them - Flatbacks appear to be super rare, here in Germany.
I'm thinking I either need 212 in addition to my 112AV's...
I had a SVT112 Classic and one of the best things I ever did was get rid of it. Possibly the worst sounding cab I ever had. I have a 212AV and am VERY happy with it. Possibly the 112AV sounds much different than the Classic 112 (I haven't spent the time digging up the numbers), but the 212AVs are killers. But to your thought about getting a 212AV--you yust can't go wrong with them if you like the Ampeg sound.

I agree with what Peter said, except for the part about dialing back the lows on the Flatback. I boost lows in the 210av insteadMy flatback has CTS speakers FYI. They are close but you get more low end from the big box. Which I tend to dial back. The 210AVs have less upper end content as well. Very noticeable at home, less so on a loud stage.
You can definitely do pretty well at copping a quality Ampeg tone with a Micro VR, although for the same price I'd go with the PF350 instead. Same preamp but 150 more watts.
The 7 Pro is the best of the lightweight Ampegs as far as I'm concerned but the PF800 is not far off and it fits in a laptop bag. The 3 Pro is a whole different ballgame because it's a more traditional hybrid but it's good, too.Love the 50T but I don't want less headroom in my back up to the V4b. How does the PF800 compare or the svt7 or 3?
I had a SVT and 3 pro 20+ years ago Thanks for the advice maybe the 7 pro is the right backup. The 7 Pro is the best of the lightweight Ampegs as far as I'm concerned but the PF800 is not far off and it fits in a laptop bag. What about the 4 pro compared to the 7? In terms of V4b reissue tone? The 7 Pro is the best of the lightweight Ampegs as far as I'm concerned but the PF800 is not far off and it fits in a laptop bag. The 3 Pro is a whole different ballgame because it's a more traditional hybrid but it's good, too.
I put it like this...the 4 Pro reminds me more of a V4B or SVT running at its cleanest, and the 7 Pro reminds me more of a V4B or SVT pushed just to the brink of losing cleanliness...it's not dirty, just has a little bit of sag to it. That's sort of how I hear traditional SS with the heavy power transformers vs micros with the SMPS in general. Tighter vs slightly sagging. What about the 4 pro compared to the 7?
