The vintage v4b get warm and have no fans. Mine is a 1972 and has been used 12 hrs in the hot summer sun and it never had a hiccup. Id look for a vintage one if I were you..hell even a recap and new tubes and ur still under the price of a new one with the benefit of the american made amp with american iron. Go with the proven design. That's cool to hear, my 70s SVT sounds like a loud laptop when it powers on and the fan starts up. How's the heat on the amp after an hour or two of playing? I'm still really interested in these amps but after getting the 70s SVT I'm also really interested in a vintage V4B to match.
