The sound in the 210v's is great to me, but I like it better through the 810e The 210av's are tuned slightly higher in the lows than the 810e, but a little bass boost on the amp seems to bring it back pretty well.

I've never tried the V4-B, but the SVT210AV's are better the more you've got. Stacked horisontally they sound beefier, stacked vertically they sound snappier and brighter. There's a huge difference in volume and punch when you add a third one to the stack. I'd love to try four of them side by side with a 810...

As has been said many times, just be careful of your volume/bass control settings. The 210AV cab is a medium duty cab and won't handle a huge amount of power.
Keep a listen out for signs of speaker stress and enjoy.

True. This is where the 210av, however, becomes attractive with a V4B, at least as far as I'm concerned. It's got a 200w thermal limit, so you can give the V4B some gas, and as long as you remain in clean-land, you should be OK. But use two and you can start cranking the bejabbers out of it. And while they're medium duty, they'll stand up to that much and put out a goodly amount of tone and only weigh 25 lbs each. The only weird thing for me is having to stack it with the head on the bottom because of doing the vertical stack.

Look what the UPS guy just brought me. Only had a few minutes to play with it so far. But from what I hear, I love this amp.

I've been playing my PF500 through the SVT212AV for a few weeks and was having a hard timing dialing in the tone I wanted. I finally got it by adding a little more drive to my VT Bass DI.

I plugged straight into the V4B without any effects at all and BAM! There was the tone I wanted.

That is the same exact rig I am using for smaller gigs except an SVT instead of the v4b and sometimes throw my american jazz in there as well. Great rig!

Yea I've got a Squier VM Jazz that I haven't brought out in a while. I can't wait to hear how that sounds through the rig too. Although my P Bass will be my go to bass. It sounds REALLY nice!

Has a medium size venue gig last night with the guitar players turning their amps to 11 (very frustrating). I had my SVT at 7 gain and 8 volume which 1 212av handled with no problem.

I finally was able to pick up my v4b today...it's been on order what seemed to be forever! This amp has "the" tone that everyone has said it has!!! I am running it thru the 610 and it's loud! My Ric just sounds amazing thru this amp! I just need to get the AV grill cloth to match.

Overall super happy with this amp, ampeg did a great job on this one!

Nice! Looks like you have a few sweet all ampeg setups. How do you like the amp compared to your other 2??

The other setup is a late 70's b25b with matching 215 cabinet. The tone is amazing thru that setup. Being 60watts it does not leave the house much as it is pushed on gigs even with house support. I am not much of a 15" speaker guy but the straight back 215 has a really warm bright sound. I even thought about building a copy 215 cabinet for the v4b.

On the other side is an svt with 410hlf...I never use the 410hlf as it's a struggle to hear myself and is super deep sounding...I just can't bring myself to sell it. I normally use the svt with the 610 but now with the v4b the svt is the back up. I want to either get a used 810 again or try the new 212 cabinet or cabinet's. The svt needs to be setting on something bigger.

Again I am really happy with the sound of the v4b, looks sweet and sounds even better!

Welcome me back, Ampeg! I just pulled the trigger on a V4B - should be here in 3 or 4 days .
I blame Jimmy for all his drool inspiring threads . Plus having played one briefly last year I cannot get that tone out of my head.
Pure hedonism really as I already have a Fender Super Bassman 300 and an Orange AD200 in the arsenal . I seem to be addicted to tubes and having a 100, 200 and 300 watt head just feels right (do I really need to justify it?). The plan is to use the V4B with my Bergantino NV115 but if this is not a great match (unlikely) I will look at an Ampeg AV112 or 212. I will have to put the Berg on its side, not a problem since it has feet on two sides, will post a photo of the two together later but looks don't bother me too much. More concerned with tone. The NV115 is a little low on sensitivity though and does require a bit of driving so the jury is still out on the match up.
Not playing a lot at the moment since I am flat out directing a show and my wife is unwell - seems to be a trend that I buy bass gear in such circumstances.

Still waiting on it TC. They thought it might be here today but sadly no. We have a public holiday on Monday so it looks like it will be next Tuesday or Wednesday. Funny, I can get guitars shipped here from the States quicker than it takes to ship from the South Island to the North Island. I am hoping that it will be a good match with nv115, if not I guess I will be buying a couple of av112 cabs.
