Thank you very much Mr. AmpegUSA that helps me out quite a bit. It will be a couple of months or so before I'll be ready to buy so I'll get to read some reviews and hear more clips I'm sure. Where you went with it in the 2nd vid is about as far as I would go with it. I really love that tone. I'm really getting stoked now and can't wait for the reviews and more clips.

Listening to the V4B demo made me think deep seated rumble which I associate with a V twin. I wasn't trying to over think things. It was an emotional thing.

If they ever built a special edition, it could be called the Heritage Deluxe or HD V4B. :p

The more I listen to the 2nd video the more I like it. I'm really curious as to how this amp will pair with my GB NeoX 212T. It's a pretty efficient cab so I'm thinking I should get some good volume. It is the only cab option I'll have for a while.

The new amp looks very nice, when it hits stores over here in Europe I'm gonna haul my V4bh to the shop to A/B them. If anyone else is planning to do the same or even make some recordings of it, I'd love to hear!

I don't understand the comments of the V4bh being 'weak', though. I can never turn it past 4 (with gain at 7-ish) without getting told I'm too loud (it's going into a M/B PH212, heavy rock trio). Most gigs are with PA support, but it can fill small/medium rooms and bars just fine without cranking it into full distortion.

But who knows, maybe when I get to A/B them, my jaw will drop to the floor and I'll want to sell the V4bh for funding ... I'm curious!

That would be funny. But, in my mind, I'd be calling it the Heavy Duty V4B. :D

Several, okay, a lot of, ;) years ago I was in a band that covered several progressive bands, Genesis, Yes, to name a couple. I remember being able to get a great "progressive style" tone out of my old V4B. I remember using settings that made no sense but the result was killer. Something like Ultra Low engaged, Ultra Hi engaged, mids rocker in middle position with a bump on the mid knob, bass and treble bumped to 2 o'clock.
Of course the SVT 810 added a lot to the equation as well!

I would guess pretty darn good. It doesn't look right ;) but a good head + good cab always sounds good as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah it's gonna overhang about 1 & 1/2 inches on each side, but it will do until I can get another cab. I will keep the NeoX 212T for my GB Streamliner 600. Will an Ampeg 410HE be a good match for the V4B? I know the tone will be there but I'm not sure about volume. I might get one and then another later.

If Harley Davidson endorsed an Ampeg V-4B amplifier, would they have to modify the design so it would leak oil, and break down on the road?

Ha ha ha!! These days, they don't leak too much or break down that much. Not like the AMF days, anyway, I don't think.

I think they would just have to raise the price and reduce the power to 60s-era levels. Say, around 30W. :hiding: :D
