I don't think that bear claws are bad either. They bite in and do a good job of holding the tube in place. A lot of vintage and modern amps have them. They were what Ampeg used on the vintage V4B's, see the 1979 V4 below.

Different color grills for their cabs are coming. Slap an AV grill on a 610hlf and it's an AV.AmpegUSA, thanks for great responses, pics and technical details. It looks GREAT. Do you plan to release a 6x10 cab with AV styling? That would be IDEAL cabinet for the new V4B!
Unfortunately, I don't think that the clamp that you are using would fit. A smaller sized clamp would be needed. The tube base diameter of the 6L6GC is smaller than that of the 6550A.
Unofficial Ampeg answer: You are absolutely correct.
Yep. Sorry to confuse this issue on this.
Hey guys and gals, quick question, do the now discontinued V4BH's give the same "type" tone as the older V4's? Is it reasonable to expect an SVT-esque driven tone at fairly sane volume levels?
Depends on who you ask. Some so yes, many say no. That's what the big discussion on this thread has been centered up, whether these new V4B amps will sound more like the vintage V4B or the V4BH. As far as SVT tone, I've always found the V4 amps to have their own tone, more aggressive than an SVT. Then again I've never really been able to crank an SVT to the same level of overdrive as I could with a V4...
If I get a v4b I now have the cab two cabs I will definitely use it wiith - Bergantino nv115 and 215. Just can't go wrongoing with that combo.

This thread is the BIGGEST tease in years.
Did I miss any discussions on an internal fan for the reissues? Or will they be fan-less like the originals? Sounds silly, but it was a feature I truly loved as nearly all bass amps have fans in them these days.
