The Dually and Dually-T are great 215 matches. Perfect width for the head, and very efficient. I've got a Dually-T on order with chrome corners and Ampeg grill cloth. Should match up nicely. At least I hope so!

edit: Oh, and the Duallys in Arauco or Okoume plywood weigh less than the 212AV.

Cheers,
Liam

Long time lurker, first post.

This is the single most informative thread I have read in the last week. I have spent way too much time in the past 7 days looking for info on 100w tube amps and speaker suggestions. This thread covers everything...thanks to all who shared.

It seems most of yall run 4x10 and 8x10s with these.

My amp died, I want all tubes, I am looking into this (or Bassman 100T) with a fearful/fearless cab(s).

I'm really happy with my 2x10 & 1x15 light weight and modularity, but seems I may need to rethink things.

Hey guys and gals, quick question, do the now discontinued V4BH's give the same "type" tone as the older V4's? Is it reasonable to expect an SVT-esque driven tone at fairly sane volume levels?

Depends on who you ask. Some so yes, many say no. That's what the big discussion on this thread has been centered up, whether these new V4B amps will sound more like the vintage V4B or the V4BH. As far as SVT tone, I've always found the V4 amps to have their own tone, more aggressive than an SVT. Then again I've never really been able to crank an SVT to the same level of overdrive as I could with a V4...

I agree with you on the V4 having their own tone. While they still have a nice tubey Ampeg vibe, my V4 was a different tone than my SVT II non pro through the same cab. There are a lot of factors that come into play though such as what tubes you are using and such. At the time I was using NOS tubes in the V4 and it was very thick, creamy and tubey... The SVT had a nice SVT/Ampeg tone as well, but the V4 was definitely different.

Wish I still had the SVT II non pro to compare to my early '70's V4b with 6550's... And cant comment on the V4BH as I have never played one.

This thread is the BIGGEST tease in years.

Did I miss any discussions on an internal fan for the reissues? Or will they be fan-less like the originals? Sounds silly, but it was a feature I truly loved as nearly all bass amps have fans in them these days.
