2015 was a fantastic year for me pedal wise, and so I wanted to start a thread on what your favorite pedals that you bought in 2015 were.

For me my best purchases this year were:

Foxrox Octron
-Incredibly thick analog octave. Makes my bass sound so much fuller. Great tracking and stacked with distortion pedals, it sounds massive.

Idiotbox Dungeon Master
-One of the last Idiotbox pedals I bought, but should have been the first. This pedal covers all the bases for me in terms of bass distortion. Massive low end, harmonically rich tone with great feel makes this pedal a total and complete winner. It beat out the Blower Box, Cool Bass Fuzz and pretty much every other distortion I own hands down. I am trying to get Matt to make one modded with expression control over the bass knob because sweeping that knob makes for some great musical ideas. Even with the bass turned down to zero, this pedal still has a great sound.

Mr Black Bass OD
-Fat and juicy overdrive. Totally natural sounding with zero coloration. Not much gain on tap, but it makes for a very dynamic and muscular sound regardless.

Big Game Bedlam
-Great OCD grind and I love the gate/boost feature.

Mr Black Doublechorus-Very haunting and dark sounding chorus with a lot of character. I can see it dissapearing in a mix though, so it is probably a studio only piece. I put it on my "best of" list only because of its inherent character, which is very unique and musical.

For me, the star of the show this year was a COG Effects TK421x... it's a RAT-based pedal, with lots of diode options, and a filtered clean bend. I have tried other rat pedals (fuzzrocious, idiot box) but nothing quite sounded right until I got this...

I picked up an old DOD BI-Fet preamp, which is working really well as a boost (volume boost and treble boosts also).

The other pedals this year have, oddly, been re-buying pedals I have sold in the past! I bought another dispatch master, and I am using it a lot in my new band, awesome for volume swells. I have also picked up another BF-2 flanger, which works well for the current band, very Tool-esque :)

So I was doing a round up of my new effect toys this year, as you can tell I like my toys cheap. There were others I tried and returned or flipped these were the keepers.

Zoom MS60B - used $50 - for an easy grab and go efx package really dig some of the sounz. Cuz I luv my Zoom pedals and this completes the set. This and a DI are all that is needed for the C&W gig.

Zoom FP02 - new $49 expression to use with the B3

Fuzzrocious BDPG.1 used and etched, to add some grit to my amp wanted one forever and this one was $100.

Fuzzrocious BDPG.2 new $165 my splurge, using it as a full on fuzz the output volume really makes it more useful.

Behringer. ADI21 new $30.00 to use with my abg, not the greatest but it worx

Behringer BLE100 new very cheep could not pass up at $9 shipped from MF. For the rare times I might want a comp this gets the job done, works especially well with my fretless.

Joyo California Sound - new $32. had to see what all the hype was about and I like it for my Tweety bass.

I bought and sold and traded a lot of pedals this year (i ended one band and started another at the same time)
My most awesome, favorite pedals i got this year are: ss/bs tafm and ampeg scr-di. I love them both :-)

I've had a multiFX pedal for a while but never really knew how to use it. I got a few stand alone pedals for the first time this year, out of all of them the absolute standout for me is my Way Huge Pork Loin. It sweetens my tone, I think that from the few pedals I've played that it looks the most the way that it sounds.

I also had a great year (and a great year pedal-wise as well) adding 11 to my collection. My favorites are easily the ss/bs TAFM, SGFX Beta and the Aguilar Agro.

The Fuzzrocious Heliotropic is amazing as well and should be on a lot more boards around here than it is.

There was a few others I really would've liked to have added (Ampeg SCR-DI, Malekko Diabolik, SGFX Sasori, EQD Rainbow Machine and the Morley Cliff Burton Wah) that I'll hopefully add to the pile-o-pedals in early 2016.

I'm kind of new to separates (used a Zoom B3 for a couple of years) and went from a Pitchblack>EBS Multicomp>Unichorus with a Pedaltrain Mini and 1-Spot to Strobostomp II>Darkglass VMTD>Super Symmetry>Red Witch Factotum>EBS Unichorus with a Metro 25 and Voodoo Labs power supply. Look Honey, I saved money by keeping the chorus pedal! :smug:

I like my current setup a LOT better. Most of the times I play at churches with no amps on the stage and IEM's - the hiss from the B-3 was driving me even more nuts and usual! The Factotum is new (Christmas present from my wife!) and I think that setup will do almost everything I want - except for an envelope filter!

I bought a TON of effects this year - I'm pretty sure the only pedals on my board that were purchased in previous years were my modded OC-2, tuner and Tech21 Bass Boost Chorus. My Wren & Cuff Tall Font Russian is probably my most-used pedal, but I'd say my favorite is the Subdecay Siren Pitch Vibrato.

This pedal is really, really handy. The enchant knob makes the effect infinitely usable and natural but I have no idea why I don't see more people talking about it. I've seen a lot of people noting the high prices for Boss VB-2's and ask how to chase Juan Alderate's tones, well this is it...

My pedalboard is linked in my signature block, the only difference is I've added a Solidgold FX Sasori (amazing, and dethroned my Frazz Dazzler).

I submit my pedal of 2015: the Southampton Fifth Gear. Nothing fancy*, but... tasty as hell. And the contenders were strong: Origin Cali76 CB and a Wampler Euphoria.

*It was actually a purple one, so it was sort of fancy.

The Fifth Gear is one heck of a pedal, I totally agree with that.

For me? I don't dare list everything I bought and sold this year :D so instead I'll just say that the Hudson Broadcast is probably my top choice for this year, although it is an awfully tough call between that and the FEA Opti-Fet, the Spaceman Sputnik, and about a gazillion others.

Empress compressor did it for me. the punch, the tight bottom end, the "tone color" it has when used heavily is awesome.

also the ISP decimator is the best noise gate i have ever used, after obtaining my many, many new darkglass units i tried it out against the Boss Ns2 and it just smashes it. It did break however haha, so it looses points there. i am at the mercy of the Ns2 until it's repaired.

2015 was the year I really got serious about pedals.

Pedal of the year for me is clearly the F*** EPILEPSY, since it's not only a WALL OF RAGING DOOM but also inspired the charity auction that raised a bunch of money for the organization that researches my daughter's condition.

Best of the rest would probably be the John K AU-Drive, based around a 12AU7 tube. Haven't gigged it yet but it's blowing me away with how smooth the clipping is.
Honorable mention to the Trans-Boost and Mountainking Stone 128.

I also got a Meatsmoke, but it 'feels' more like it should be judged as a preamp than a pedal proper.

Do you have clips of the bass OD, by any chance?
how does it compare with the Barbershop ME?
Thanks!
