Based on being a better kicker than some of of the current coaches, if that in fact turns out to be the case. And otherwise, based on the obvious publicity opportunities for whatever team might take her on. Whether she'd be good at it is a whole other thing though.

She made one kick, under controlled conditions, using improper technique (in a game, she would be using 2, not 4, steps).

Don't get me wrong - I've said it multiple times here, I hope she goes for it, and I think if she took the time to learn how to do it, she has the raw talent to do it (although it likely would mean the end of her soccer career, and I don't know if she would want to do that for the chance for a few years playing football). But saying she would be a good coach is similar to saying that Tim Tebow would be a good quarterback technique coach in the NFL, because he had success in college (with lousy technique, which is why he failed in the NFL) - actually, Tebow is closer, since at least he played the same sport, but it was as good an analogy as I could think of over lunch.

She has her head on straight about starting with baby steps, so obviously she wouldn't start coaching at the NFL level, or probably mess with any of this if she's not good at it. OTOH, Tebow seems to have no problem with tryimg to do stuff he's not really good at.

Trying, but the idea of coaching is to have more knowledge on something than the players, not wanting to do something.

And Tebow hasn't succeeded on anything. He flunked out of football, and is failing at baseball (at the level where he wants to succeed).

Give her a year with a coach, and she will improve. I don't know if she is NFL caliber, but she has a chance.

FWIW, I am not talking out my $!%$#@. I was recruited to placekick in college, and played soccer while I was in college.

Tebow still has more playoff wins than Matthew Stafford (who is 0-3 and had Calvin Johnson at WR for two of those losses).

Actually, she made more than one kick. She made the one 55-yarder, but she also made a number of 40-yard kicks. And the uprights were narrower than regulation. She'd obviously have to shorten her approach, though. USWNT star Carli Lloyd nails a 55-yard field goal at Eagles practice

Let's not forget that all the stadiums would require a refurb, a separate locker room and separate shower area to accommodate women, excuse me, woman. IMO it's something those miserly billionaire owners would not go for. We're talking about maybe a handful of women at best although we've only seen one actually drill a kick from distance.:cool:

Which she's already said herself, and finding that out is her stated job one before doing anything else. But maybe she'll be like Michael Dickson to some degree, and the standard technique isn't even necessarily actually the best one. I have no idea (and plenty of skepticism), but if I did it wouldn't be nearly as much fun to talk about, eh?

Yes, but he failed for one reason - his throwing technique sucked, and he wasn't willing to take the time to go to Canada (closest thing the NFL has to the minor leagues) to learn. It's a shame. The guy is a physical specimen, and certainly has the leadership qualities to lead a team. He has the leadership abilities of Doug Flutie, and the physical makeup of John Elway. I wish he hadn't given up.

Again, she has raw talent. Here is the question. At 37, is she willing to give up being a hero in soccer (not to mention the money), and work on football for a year, hoping that she can improve enough to go for it next year? I'd love to see it.

They all have facilities (referees and other staff, not to mention there are separate training areas which likely have separate showers). She might also not want a separate locker room.

hey bulldog (I feel a song in there somewhere:cool:) you can't have women in the same locker room with the guys. Guys play guy tricks on each other. Earlier I mentioned Charles Haley being retired and it was meant to be comical. Mr. Haley would lay 'something' on the shoulder of a teammate at random because "we're all men and it's a joke". There has to be separate facilities, women's groups all over the planet would go wild, and I don't think Carli's husband has been asked his opinion yet. What if the place setter fumbles or mishandles the snap? Those 300lb human missiles are going to be in her face before you can count three seconds. The outcry would be biblical:rolleyes:

Oh, I think if she wanted a separate room, they would give her one. But she might not want one. Come on, these aren't giggling school kids. They've seen plenty of female bodies, and she's seen male bodies. There are female reporters in locker rooms. The earth hasn't stopped spinning.

Well lookie there at the Houston Texans giving up their entire draft for like the next 10 years to get two players. This is a problem when you have a head coach that also has general manager abilities. He's stupid and gives away in the future.
Also giving away jadeveon clowney for a 3rd round pick and a couple of people that might have been cut from the Seahawks. What an idiot.

To refurb all the stadiums would cost about as much as one offensive lineman costs for a season.
