Just replaced some dead EPs with weichs, so I’m in. Spiros on my upton, flat chromes on my Easton.
In college my bass professor recommended to use old weichs on a primary bass for EVERYTHING. I’m finally realizing he was right all along.

I saw an extension Spirocore for sale here for $100 and thought it was a full set. If it was I would have joined yall but alas I'm out of the game, doomed to stick with the perpetuals that I love so much. I will be applying as an impartial judge/mod to this group in the new year though lol

I considered selling my set, but I feel like I should hold onto it. Still squarely in the Perpetual camp though. My son even bought me a new set for Christmas.

These ~3mo old 3/4 Weichs are settling nicely - and making me money! They sounded great tonight in a drummerless trio w/sax & guitar.

So please remind me … are there 3/4 and 4/4 versions of the Mittels? And if so, any recommendations?
Yes. I think most common in the USA are 4/4 (S42) Mittel on 3/4 basses. That's the one I tried.
Do I understand correctly that 3/4 Weich and 3/4 Mittel are both larger diameter than their 4/4 counterparts?

I believe so, posative that is the case with 3/4 vs 4/4 weich. There is a chart somewhere. The 4/4s are longer and will have less tension on a 3/4 bass.
