well I'm going to commit fully. I have a gig on the 26th where Ill play with the polychrome G. As soon as that gigs over I'm throwing the matching G on, and bowing the poopie out of it until it matches the others. No turning back after that!

Edit: I do think there is a market for people who will bow brand new Spiros 24x7 until they are burned in. Maybe some orchestral players practicing Messiah parts???

I have all Spiros on 2 basses, but I can't commit even if they stay on all year. I can't remember when I put them on the flatback and I just got my Stark G over Mitts on my Upton. Maybe I'll serve in an ex-officio capacity for this adventure. Some of you may need counseling or consoling along the way.
We also need judges for when people say "Well, I'm just going to try a **** G String for this one thing, but that still counts, right?"
@TroyK aren't you the bassist with string neurosis? I have no idea how you're going to make it a full year! I didn't make it a full year w/ Evah Slaps, but did keep my promise to myself (to use them through the spring & summer gig season to give them a fair and honest try).
You know...mostly I'm recovered from my string neurosis. Prior to Perpetuals coming out, I stuck the same set for a few years and I went about 2 years with Perpetuals and could keep going with them, frankly, because they're pretty great.
I had a Spirocore period maybe a decade ago and I think it would good to go through another one. Am I going to make it? Eh...

I have to buy either way. The Perps are 2 years old. I actually thought I could get away with old Spirocores, but I do think I need a fresh set.

I have two basses. One with Chordas that doesn't travel. One that has travelled that is currently wearing Olivs/Evah Weichs.
If I may negotiate use of an old set of spiros. As well as, most of my practicing, all out of town gigs, a portion of local "artier gigs" and all "corporate" local gigs on my travel bass wearing spiros. Then I'm in.
(My travel bass, is an old American Standard with a removable neck)
If there are any objections, I'm going back to the string rabbit hole.

I am definitely in.. Ive been playing weich 3885 EA over Belcanto DG for about 18 months and felt like a change and put the spiro DG back on on 15 Dec.. I'm 75 arco / 25 pizz player... went to the Bels originaly because I found the spiros a bit gnarly in high registers ... but after a coukle of weeks I'm already loving the colour..not as harsh as i remember... I'm really keen to see how they end up in a years time as mainly an arco string....
I switched from guts to Evah weichs to Spiros mainly because of the arco response and tone. Absolutely love both mittels and weichs for arco.
If I am to have even an inkling of a chance to make it through 2022 without another string experiment, it would be prudent for me to un-subscribe from the "Guts are so much fun" & "Guts over Spiros are so much fun" threads...and others of that ilk.
Maybe block the entire "Strings" forum.
