I sold my EUNA clone after having the same reaction. One thing that came to mind is the tuners I have on both boards have built in buffers, so maybe putting fancy buffer before a tuner's buffer yielded no difference.Well, it arrived today. Just spend a few minutes with it. Not sure I can tell it's really doing anything? I'm surprised you think it colors the tone that much? If I engage the switches I can definitely hear a difference. But with all three off I really don't notice much of anything? This is with my IEM, a Fender American Vintage II, and LaBella Flats. That was just my quick impression. I guess I need to play with it for a bit, and then remove it to see if I notice anything. I also need to try it with round wounds to see if the flats just don't do it justice. Hmmmmm.....
A pedal that makes no audible difference is useless. Return it and forget about it.
I want to give it some time before I make any decisions on it.A pedal that makes no audible difference is useless. Return it and forget about it.
the EUNA will shine with passive vintage output pickups. It’s the impedance loading on them that does the magic.Well, it arrived today. Just spend a few minutes with it. If you use an active bass or minimal cable runs you likely won’t notice a thing other than psychoacoustic delusion.
It’s not an “effect pedal”.
It’s a device made to preserve the instrument signal integrity through the chain, when several other devices can contribute to degradation of the tone.
EUNA was developed to be used in large chains, using several meters of cables, different types of pedals and other devices such as wireless transmitters, etc...
On my board I use like five meters of cables and about 15 pedals. EUNA has a big role by preserving the tone.
Does it have its drawbacks? Yes, it occupies a very large space, the eq switches are not very suitable for bass, output/send return jacks are very close to each other, which makes it difficult to assemble on pedalboards... But I still believe it's a low price to pay when we are talking about tone.
I can honestly hear a subtle difference on my tone when using it and that makes me more confident about what other people will hear from my tone.
In my experience, sound engineers and other professionals have had a very positive response about sound quality since I started using this device.
I’m not affiliated and bought it with my own money. Would bought another one for my backup board.
Three hundred dollars for "I can honestly hear a subtle difference in my tone when using it"? It's your decision, of course, but in my opinion, that's crazy. Reminds me of homeopathy: it doesn't work beyond the placebo effect.
Oh my… Yes, I can afford that.
This device is not made for everybody. A bedroom player will have no benefits on getting an EUNA. But there are some others, with pro rigs, that will.
I can afford it too, but as a fact-oriented person, I'm choosing against it.
This device is found on relatively few pro rigs and these are only ever brought up in discussions when it suits the situation.
The fact that, for example, the SansAmp can be found on countless pedalboards of bassists in world-famous bands, is usually ignored or dismissed as irrelevant in discussions about the Noble (which, by the way, I could also afford).
Psychologically understandable and highly interesting.
