Also consider the fact that some cheap beer is sold at premium prices on the US market.
Stella Artois comes to mind.
Thats because its Imported. And a lot of people think Imported means its good. They dont realize theyre drinking another country's fizzy yellow water.
Stella seems to be a bit of a gateway beer. I'm simply surprised a beer that's dominated by undesireable off-flavors sells so well.

I do not spend my money on any of those beers, but if mine are all gone and someone offers Im happy to oblige them.
For Stella? I dont know. I think I may have had one on tap at some point in my life, but these days I wouldnt even think about paying for one![]()
