36 Cheap American Beers, Ranked

My favorite "cheap" beer is Yuengling Black & Tan...I have yet to see their Porter here but I want to try it.

When I saw PBR ranked at #5 I realized just how subjective taste is.

I will also admit to having some bud light limes in the fridge too-I actually don't mind them too much-they are good when you want something sweet and cold. I think mikes hard ______ and Smirnoff ices are too sweet so BLL is just right for me.
Come to think of it, BLL is the only bud product I like haha!

Also consider the fact that some cheap beer is sold at premium prices on the US market.

Stella Artois comes to mind.

Thats because its Imported. And a lot of people think Imported means its good. They dont realize theyre drinking another country's fizzy yellow water.

Stella seems to be a bit of a gateway beer. I'm simply surprised a beer that's dominated by undesireable off-flavors sells so well.

I tried Czechvar once. Basically what Budweiser originally was. It's sold as premium import here in the USA and while it *is* better than Bud I was still not impressed. It had some nice gold foil on the green glass bottle though, that's got to be worth something.

For Stella? I dont know. I think I may have had one on tap at some point in my life, but these days I wouldnt even think about paying for one

I do not spend my money on any of those beers, but if mine are all gone and someone offers Im happy to oblige them.

Matticus brings up an important point of order, here. We can jerk around all we want about calling this or that beer "swill" or worse. But, it is extremely bad beer etiquette to refuse the offer of a beer from a fellow beer drinker no matter the brand. This is important stuff in the maintenance of our social fabric. Really.

Beer just isn't a big enough deal in my life to be picky. When I read these threads, I sometimes think you guys are acting silly. But when it comes to coffee, I then understand.
