36 Cheap American Beers, Ranked

I dont see the point in drinking an expensive, heavy, dark beer that after drinking two of them it feels like you ate a full meal. Its way to hot here to drink heavy beer. Besides I like the taste of Miller Lite.

I didn't say anything about heavy or dark beer. I like porters and stouts and such, but I also like nice crisp Hefeweizens and Belgian Witbiers, and lately I'm in a lager phase.

I just cant do it, I used to drink a lot of expensive beers to try and be different and more sophisticated than my friends. They are all either to heavy, or if they are light they are to bitter for my taste.

If I am at a restaurant eating a steak, I will have me a Shiner Bock or a New Castle, but if I'm just hanging out having some beers I need something easy to drink, and not so filling.

Like everything else, beer doesn't necessarily have to be expensive to be good.

I like Shiner Bock, but don't like Newcastle.

Original Coors is so much better than Coors Lite, it's hard to imagine what the idea behind Coors Lite must have been.

"Okay. Here's what we're gonna do. We have a pretty decent cheap lager, so let's poor it on the floor, mop it back up, squeeze it into the mop bucket, dump some water in there to dilute it, and filter it through steel wool. I think we shall call it..... "Coors Lite". Whaddaya think, guys?"

That's the point, they want you to be able to drink alot of it. They are not going for a craft beer.

Craft beer it is not, that's for sure. Maybe replace the "ft" in craft with a "p" instead and we'd be right on the dial. :p

I never understood the theory behind "light" beer. If I want to drink water I have that coming out of several faucets inside and outside of my house.... no need to run to a store for it.

+ infinity that is the best description I've ever heard.

they left out alot, like black label, hauenstein, blatz etc etc. I feel a small degree of pride being a minnesotan that we have the best cheap beer in the USA. I rarely drink it myself, its not bad though really.

Hamms is pretty darn good ice cold, we drink our fair share at band rehearsal. $3.50 a sixer
