Okay. So I've had another play armed with my more informed opinion and I've put the enabler through its paces.

It's very good :D

The headphone amp is great and so crystal clear its got to be heard to be believed

The EQ is subtle but you shouldn't be afraid of big adjustments, it's like no other eq I've used.

Not had chance to use the DI but assume this will be awesome

I'm going to use it in front of my amp tomorrow as I've not been liking the sound getting so I'll keep you posted :)

I have never been happier with my pedal board until I put this together. The PWNZOR replaced my Empress, which had replaced my Diamond. It's smaller, easy to dial in, and adds that sweetness to my tone that is subtle but hard to live without once you hear it. The Proton, replaced my Robotalk which had replaced by GR1. I find the Proton is wetter and easier to dial in with different basses then the GR1 was. A truly delicious sound!

Anyone find that the Proton has issues with passive basses? With my Stingray it's fine, with with my PJ, if I don't have another pedal engaged before the Proton, and the Proton is bypassed, it sucks the tone quite a bit.

I've tried this with just the Proton in my pedal chain, or with it on my pedal board with a compressor before it (it's all good when the compressor is on, tone suck when it's off or no pedal before the Proton), and with a couple of different power supplies. Doesn't really worry me as I always have a compressor on anyway, but am curious as to what's going on.

I think I know what's up - certain production runs were somewhat vulnerable to a particular kind of faliure that is easily fixed. Shoot me an email - [email protected]

That's interesting. I found I preferred the Proton with the comp in front of it and always on. I will have to experiment and see if there are any tonesuck issues with the comp off. I didn't notice anything like that and my Proton is brand new.

Okay used it in church today. Struggled to get a sound I like with the Roland cube 60xl I've been using since ditching a Hartke 115 and TC BH250. Been tweaking and tweaking and not satisfied. Roland on super flat model and enabler eq to my liking through headphones BANG I'm back in the room :)

Boosting bass and low mids plus bass boost I'm loving it

Spencer's tip on gain helped ;)

My main gigging basses at the moment are a P and Stingray.

I don't have any clips but the Proton V2 sounds amazing with any bass I've run through it. The Stingray is a very funky bass as is and it's hard to get a bad sound with the Proton; it's a very plug-and-play filter (but this does NOT mean that it's a one-trick-pony).

Spencer may have to correct and/or confirm me here but from what I've heard the Proton has a more wet sound in general than the Wonderlove (can be more subtle if you set the range to high).

They can both get pretty wet with the resonance knob. The Proton might be a little bit slurpier on the top end of the knob.
