3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

Just messin' with my PWN tonight, I have all the knobs in different places from yesterday (including the internal release pot) and found yet ANOTHER sound that I'm flipping over.

I can't stop fiddling with the thing. Who knows if I'll actually settle on a sound, there's too many.

Spencer, if you do end up making another compressor, and it ends up being improved (???) you will have your shop raided before you can get them off of your table.

I've already got my assault kit ready on standby. If you hear a helicopter at night, it's too late. ;)

quick pic of my Enabler on top of my Roland combo.

In my loop: PWNZOR>EB Vol. Jr.>LS-2>OC-3.

I use the LS-2 to split the compressed and volume-controlled signal before any of the effects kick in, then blend my clean signal with the rest of my effects that follow the WL.

The dynamic control of the filter with it filtering my compressed signal is pure funk bliss.

Ok, so I will ask the dumb question. I watched the video from the WL loop threads. My question is, how does the effects loop interact with the looped pedals in a way that is different than having those pedals follow the WL? I understand that having them in an effects loop allows you to bring them in an out with a single click, but tonally speaking, what is the difference?

There shouldn't be any difference. It just gives you the option to have more control over a specific set of effects which are tied to the WL

There is a huge difference in the way the filter is triggered. I always put my fuzz and octaves before the filter and that is how it sounds in the loop. The point is that you set the filter to open and close the way you want with your clean signal. Then, any additional gain stages or changes in input that occur from the pedals in the loop will not affect the way the WL responds to your playing.

The problem with using gated fuzzes and Octave pedals in front of envelope filters is, while it sounds groovy, the triggering of the filter gets all screwed up by the fuzzed out, octave dropped signal. That is why the filter opens and closes so clean in the video, and the main purpose of the loop beyond just being able to turn on multiple pedals. This doesn't change the tone per se, but the difference in triggering will make it sound different.

Makes me want to get a wonderlover again..

I just got a wonderlove. I have proton v-2 and had gr2. The wonderlove is the best one so far. Spencer nailed the WL. I used an Mrx bod in the fx loop, then fed to the pwnzor. Great sound

Thank you very much. That is the kind if insight I was looking for. That is very helpful.

Anyone got any clips of the Wonderlove or Proton V2 running with a EBMM Stingray? Would help me finally decide which to get, been racking my brain trying to decide:hmm:

Just did up a quick demo of my Stingray through my Proton, plus a bunch of my other effects (think I tagged the sound clip in the right places). Stingray effects demo.

Sorry about the sloppy playing - I was too busy thinking about switching all the effects on and off. Definitely not used to that, normally I just have one on for a song and dont change it.

Nice compilation

Sorry for the delay kids! I've been minimizing my Talkbass visits as I'm trying to put the $ icing on the cake for a possible down payment on my first place and we all know how Talkbass loves to vampire our wallets!

Sweeeeet. Did someone octave too?!?! Oh man. Sorry, don't mean to speculate but that's exciting.

Dang right. Octave and Envelope are my two most used effects, I'd totally be in for a 3Leaf Octaver because Spencer would kill it.

And here's the latest updates / full numbers list. I think I got all the updates people posted, but let me know if I missed something!
