3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

I'm hoping for a Chromatron drop at some point. The recent drops were all bent metal enclosures. I'm wondering if Spencer is still dealing with problems getting the Chromatron enclosures milled.

Since it is the enclosure that seems to be the holdup, I kinda wish he would just go back to the bent metal enclosure for the Chromatron as well, I personally really like the aesthetic.

I don't mind the enclosures not being the fancy milled one either but they sure look good. I've been hoping for the longest time for a GR2 with exp control but the Wonderlove wasn't quite that for some reason. The Chromatron seems like an upgraded Wonderlove and dethroned the Xero D for some. I'm very interested and now that Spencer is back, there's hope for one at a normal price too.

Btw I'm loving the Doom 2 I just got. It really improves on the You're Doom nicely.

Yeah, the Doom was my favorite pedal (not my most used one but the one I enjoyed using the most) and the Doom 2 really cemented that, honestly its my favorite fuzz!

I am really hoping Spencer's new approach to business allows him time to design new circuits, his stuff is so creative!

Personally. He changed the pedals into new versions too quickly. To me they were not drastic changes. There is no problem changing the versions a little later like many other companies. Unless you have the number of employees to do so. Hey, even his older pedals are great.

After months of my revolving home board focusing on dirt and the glories of Montreal Assembly, I thought today’s NFL accompaniment should shift to filters. My recent acquisition and instant fondness for my new Proton caused me to wonder how it compares to my Groove Regulator, (which hasn’t been out of the drawer in a long time). Why stop there, let’s put all the filters on the board.

Filters are awesome, so tied to your stroke, an instrument unto themselves. IMO the most difficult effect type to get useful information from demos or recommendations, as they are so dependent on their environment. In a fundamental way, these can all sound pretty much the same, the variation comes in the control set. The Ultron can go places the others can’t. Putting the Prometheus in a blender was a revelation. It does so many cool things that completely eliminate the bottom end. Bloop it, boom. I recommend trying any filter with HP or BP in a blender, it’s a whole new world. 3Leaf filters are great, but I don’t have a favorite among these. Even the 6 Helix models I pulled up, good times.

Has anyone compared the Micro Tron III or IV vs the v4 Proton?

Never tried the JoshWah, but I did a pedal review of the Proton IV and Micro-Tron IV. Didn't have the chance to own them at the same time though, but I can tell you that the Proton (especially the IV) sounds amazing at every setting. It's just so easy to dial a good tone. The Micro-Tron is harder to dial in... But once you find a good setting it sounds pretty good ! The Micro-Tron also has a CV in/out, so having all this in a small enclosure is good option, compared to the Chromatron for example. The IE XD would be a good option, but I'm not sure it has a ''mutron'' sound, if that's what you're looking for.

Snagged an Octabvre to go with my Doom 2! I used to own the MKI and the Octabvre Mini and they were both awesome, here's hoping I gel with the MKIII!

Congrats. I was checking 3Leaf page daily, almost hourly, man I was on top of that thing ever since he posted that more Octabvres are coming. And then lo and behold, Spencer drops the final batch on New Year's Eve, when I was already out to celebrate with my friends (9 hour difference here). Oh well. Guess I'll wait for the new release.

That's rough, I usually have bad luck with this sort of thing (Broughton stuff for example) so I was genuinely shocked that I lucked out this time! Hopefully you guys don't have to wait too long until a new batch is released.
