Dude…this moral philosophizing about the pedal market is getting exhausting. At least it was contained to a single thread before.

I'm sorry it's a topic you don't like to talk about...but...we are on a pedals forum and the outrageous secondary market is something every pedal nerd is living through right now (whether they are disgusted by it or cashing in bigly). Where else is it appropriate to discuss the secondary market for effects than the very threads about those effects? Why is it appropriate for someone to say "Hey Look pedal x is listed on reverb right now" but not appropriate to discuss the details of the listing?

You don't want to read my content CLICK HERE and you'll be spared...it's literally why the function exists. I hang out in maybe 5 active threads and a few randoms (and yeah, this is a topic for 3Leaf and Iron Ether right now...Broughton, well Broughton thread is the Broughton thread)...there's a full page of posts commenting on the topic, but my only posts/opinions irk you, so ignore them.

Back on topic...3Leaf pedals...

I went ahead and coated the Doom2 with a clear nail polish. It's been drying now for a few days and looks solid. Only time will tell if the nail polish flakes off as well and takes the lettering with it, but it seems pretty bonded.

More time spent with the Proton. This thing is just lovely. I cannot get it to sound bad. Every time I try and dial in something specific or compare it to something else, I just get lost in how soft and vocal it sounds, and forget what I was trying to do.

When it comes to filters, Spencer really GETS it.

IMO a filter w/o a Master Vol can’t get full marks, but for form factor, ease of function, etc. Spencer definitely gets it.

Most filters it’s tough to zoom in on the one or two settings that work, while with 3Leaf you can almost spin the knobs randomly and get great sounds.

I had a Groove Regulator and Wonderlove And loved both, but the Proton v4 is perfect for me as well. So simple and sounds great, doesn’t leave me wanting at all. The other two were really nice as well, but the smaller form factor and simplicity of the Proton won out for me.

rocking it alongside the Octavber v1 and You’re DOOM, with an EQ Plumes sandwiched ahead of the DOOM. Super fun lineup!

I’ve owned A LOT of filters. I’m a complete junkie for them.

This Proton is definitely the easiest to dial in, and probably the best sounding one I’ve owned.

Yeah the Proton is great. I've stuck with the Josh Wah just because it clicks with my brain a bit more. It's also way more available than the Proton has been recently.
I've always been a big fan of Spencers work. Here is my review of the original Groove Regulator from 2009. For me nothing has surpassed the GR2. That is still my favorite filter of all time.

The JoshWah is right up at the top for me, too. Definitely a great filter.

I also loved the V3 Proton I had, and the V2 WonderLove, although that one was more finicky to get dialed in.

So the "p" on Octabvre Bypass fell off by a gentle breeze last night. Now it just say "By ass" which isn't the worst thing.

Out of curiosity, how does trading work on TalkBass so it is secure for both parties? Thinking I might depart with my Octabvre for something different.

Looks like a v3.

That's a V3. V1 has 2 knobs and a taller enclosure, V2 has 3 knobs.
