3Leaf Audio Club - Episode 2

I am thinking about selling my like new GR2; it come with original box and manual. I am accepting applications to qualify potential buyers.

How many words for the essay?

lol that’s a strong response to a pedal, I don’t care how good it is.

Lol, quite. That pedal is responsible for a lot. I had a few pedals before that but that one and its ridiculous pop culture reference is what led me to embark on exploring pedals. I’ve just hit the three figure mark. I didn’t know how good this was when I bought it and now people are selling (or trying to sell) half-eaten versions for hundreds of dollars.

With apologies to the mods if the link to Welcome to You’re Doom is not allowed:

There is no sale I regret more than having sold my Groove Regular V1. Can’t find it at all let alone for outrageous prices.

I have one of those that I bought here on TB years ago. I was just playing with it tonight as I'm contemplating a new board layout and thinking to myself: "This is what an envelope filter should sound like!".

The only other filters I've liked as much are the EMMA DiscumBOBulator V1 and the VFE Mini Mu.

Spencer got it just right with the Groove Regulator. I hope you find another!

Somehow my Doom 2 has all the letters still.

Also, hot take, if you can’t get your hands on a Doom 2 give a Prunes and Custard a go.

They can sound very different. Each can do things the other can’t. But for being as different as they are they can cover A LOT of the same ground. I can’t speak to how similar the circuits are but it seems like the achieve similar sounds but in two very different ways.

The Doom can’t act as much like a filter (think Bassballs), and the P&C can’t do the doubled upper octave thing when playing higher up the neck.

Both have blends, the Dooms blend can function differently. The P&C doesn’t have the EQ controls the Doom has but it does have its own unique set.

Most importantly they are both super, super fun. I think most folks are using the Doom in conjunction with an octave. If that’s your goal and you can’t get your hands on the 3Leaf, get a P&C.
