What are y'alls preferred settings for the Chromatron?
Oh man, I see two Dooms there, that's something I totally want to try!
Oh yes, you must stack the dooms, I normally run the og doom into the doom 2
I like having my decay pulled back a bit, resonance around 2-3, and response to tase (depending on bass/pickups). But pretty close to what you have shown. Now I need to stack my Dooms to see what happens
That envelope is so straight forward, aside from the attack, release, and boost, the settings are pretty much subjective to input. But I generally like a quick attack and mid to slow release. I have been using my XD more lately, but the chromatron is my all-time favorite pedal.
I do wish, and it's like this on many envelope pedals, when you change the direction you have to reset sensitivity. It would be nice to have a foot switch controlled direction that just worked

Dime both the gains & you can get some wicked feedback in the upper register of your neck
I dont have any trouble using the settings I have dialed in on either the Chromatron or the Micro-Tron III in both up & down positions & the Mu-Tron has a dedicated foot switch to change direction which is a great feature.
The Xerograph Deluxe definitely needs to be adjusted when changing the direction of the sweep.
I'm going to blame my bass outputs being all over the place, but even then once I get a nice down sweep, switched over I always have to dial in the sens, I've heard others have your success with the proton (v4) though as well
Both my basses are passive which my be a part of it but Ive also noticed that having the decay lower than the attack changes how the filter responds & makes both sweep directions work with the same settings.
I think Spencer's instructions say the attack should always be lower than the decay & in my experience, following those instructions, the sweet spot for the response/sensitivity is low for up sweeps & high for down sweeps but when I set the attack higher than the decay I can find the sweet spot for the response & my settings works for both up & down sweeps...

I'll try that in a bit, when you mean Low and High, Low is CCW and High CW? is it correct in saying full CCW pot(s) would be the fastest attack/decay? its not very clear in the manual
Yes, by set low I mean CCW & set high CW, if you think of the dail as going from 0-10, 0 being fully CCW & 10 being fully CW, lowest setting (0) being the fastest attack & decay time & highest setting (10) being the slowest attack & decay time.
If I remember correctly, Spencer recommends not setting the attack higher than the decay but I do the opposite to acheive a balanced setting for both up & down sweeps .
EDIT: So on the Chromatron manual it does suggest a setting with slow attack & fast decay... I must have confused that with the Wonderlove manual where he recommends against having the attack set slower than the decay.

Hey Folks, I really hate to do this, but just a public service announcement.
I placed an order with 3Leaf for an Anima preamp module and 5 custom knobs on February 21st (both in stock at the time). On February 24th I requested that 3Leaf add a wiring harness to my order if it hadn't shipped. I heard nothing back. I waited until March 25th and sent an email saying that I just wanted the order to ship and didn't need the harness if it was holding things up. I waited 1 week and still heard nothing back. I emailed again asking that my order be cancelled and refunded if 3Leaf was unable to ship.
After again hearing nothing back, I opened a dispute with PayPal. Today I was informed that they ruled in my favour, and I was refunded, minus the $30 USD shipping cost, which I really should have been given back, considering NOTHING EVER SHIPPED. I am feeling pretty burned TBH, and I don't think I will be purchasing anything from Spencer again. Which is a real shame, because the Doom 2 is my favorite pedal, one that I will never sell. I've owned most of 3Leaf's product offering and they are one of my favorite brands. I just don't want to go through that hassle again.
Never thought I would be saying this, but if you are considering buying anything from 3Leaf, at least use a payment form with some type of buyer protection.

That's disappointing to hear. I ordered 8 knobs from him in January & they shipped within 2 days & arrived within a week which was surprising given his recent periods of silence. If you still need/want some 3leaf knobs I'm happy to help.
Yeah, it really is disappointing. I hope he is ok. I was rooting for 3Leaf to make a big comeback, hopefully this isn't a bad sign.
I put an Anima preamp in my Dingwall NG3 and love it, I was planning on upgrading the knobs to the 3Leaf ones, so I appreciate your offer, but I think I'm going to go with a set of the Dingwall custom knobs instead.

I had a pretty negative experience, similar to yours, when I first tried to purchase something from him a couple years ago.
I won’t get into the details but it left a pretty bad taste in my mouth, which is a shame as there’s no doubt that Spencer designs excellent products.

Yeah until I see a consistent trend of normalcy I put 3 leaf in the same arena as Dr. Bass, unfortunately.
