I’d stand any finish if it sounds like Doom should
I still own my 1st edition You’re Doom and it’s the longest keeper among all my pedals.

BTW is it still possible to order something from Spencer? I remember times when he announced he stopped production.
He is looking to get production back up and will be doing things largely in batches, i believe. Stick around and you should hear something.
Where are the scratches? I see the whispy lines across the face, but that's part of the finish. You can see it in the pictures on the website-- the pattern will also differ for each one. I see a little line by the Treble knob, but I can't tell if that's a scratch or light reflecting.
Yeah, that definitely a scratch under the treble knob not just the light. I agree with Waltsdog, not a fan of the new finish but to each their own. I know some people dig it.

Mine also has quite a few scratches that aren't part of the finish and they do show up in photos. They can really be seen "at the right angle," but they're not so totally noticeable at other angles. I agree it's a little disappointing and Spencer might want to rethink his finishes, but... at least I was able to get one. My gear OCD wishes it was perfect of course, but I don't exactly know what sending it back would accomplish since these were so limited. (I'm thinking at the least, he'd probably have to refinish the whole pedal, which seems kind of petty of me.) There's one on the bottom that I might see if I can buff out/fix, and then fix the top if that works.
And let's face it... Mine has so many that it kind of DOES actually look like it's supposed to be part of the "worn" finish. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just by looking at this finish I'd say its probably prone to catching anything and making a mark. He probably had so many made and is trying to use the lot of them up. I know there would be a little more time involved in prep, but simply powder coating them would work. He must really want that bare metal look.
I'm serious here, what did everyone expect when purchasing a pedal with a "worn/used" finish? Especially, with Spencer's recent enclosure track record. He's obviously going for a look that pisses off people who care about pedal aesthetics. 
Yeah mine has a few scratches but it works out fine considering the style of finish, which is a worn/rugged look. It's not my favorite but I'll take what I can get. I think the screen print will last. I really doubt Spencer went through all that time and effort to find a new finishing method for the enclosures that would have any possibility of a repeat of what happened last time. That seemed like a major headache for him and he likely did everything he could to prevent that from happening again.
I don't have the right lighting and good camera to show them like fivestringgecko does, but check those pictures, mine looks pretty similar.

It's not a huge deal and I don't overly care about how the pedal looks, it's gonna get stomped on a lot. But I would say many other builders would list these as scratch/dent or B stock. The scratches aren't part of the finish on mine, they are mostly through to the metal and stand out in bright light.
Anyway, happy to have scored one regardless.

I will say this, which to me is more important, this particular enclosure MK3/Pv4/D2 will tear up neighboring finishes with little effort. I had to soften the edges with stone on my octabrve. Chromatron on the other hand is super smooth
Let's not turn this into a competition.
My Mk III is barely holding on to a few letters outside of the "Octabvre" in the middle of the pedal.
Aesthetics have their place but primary concern is how it sounds
This is really what my overly wordy post above boils down to for me as well. You said it much more succinctly.

My letters haven't budged since I gave them a coat. The shelf they've sat on has been nudged like 3 times too.
