I still regret selling my Wonderlove Deluxe, looks like there’s no way I can get similar staff used for reasonable price now. By the way, what can you guys say about GR vs Wonderlove or Chromatron? I know it’s much older pedal but I can see some of them pop up on reverb in good condition recently. Never tried GR, maybe worth buying?

Hopefully the fact that everyone is different, and it would be possible for Spencer to match up who this was, to take a note from Broughton's camp on high price flipping..

Not saying that I agree with the suggestion, but I think Spencer's operation is a bit too big for that sort of thing. Has IE ever done something similar?

Not sure, not publicly at least. Broughton produces much more pedals at the current moment, and honestly any time I can remember. If he (Spencer) can reply to every backed-up email, this option is very possible and has detoured several scalpers. I know there's a large group here that would thank him for it.

I was wandering around my local Music Go Round the other day and noticed they [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] Thing looked mint.

I honestly feel like the Chromatron is worth much more than he was charging for them, and he should charge enough for them that he can always have them available. If someone's willing to pay $700 for a Chromatron that money should go to Spencer.

Is there another envelope filter out there that has the effects loop like the big 3Leaf filters do? That's the primary thing for me, why I'll never get rid of mine. To be able to open up the filter into the octave and / or fuzz with clean blend... until you can get that elsewhere (without modeling) then the Chromatron's priceless to me.

I think every effect pedal should have this option, the bypass is a must as well. Anything that could be affected by input. The option to sum a parallel signal is awesome, it would be even nicer if you could choose series as well, before and after the effect. I'm sure those big digital pedals do that, but I try to keep it simple and analog as possible. I've seen others have loops, but I can't remember if they have the option to open up the loop when the main effect isn't engaged.

What you mention, is one of the reasons the Chromatron is my favorite pedal.

GR = Very fat, and Lovetone Meatball-esque, minus the super weird, out-there extremes of the Meatball. Less flexible than the filters that followed. Can get the most dramatic attack/quack, IMO.

Wonderlove = More controlled and defined than the GR1/2. Has more treble and midrange emphasis, and less of that real meaty, gooey low end compared to the GR. Both have boost controls. I always thought the WL1 had more punch/low end balls than the WLD. The WLD had more treble sweep to my ears.

Chromatron = Most "refined" of the bunch. The least wild and in your face sounding of the three, and probably the most precise/balanced. The Chromatron is a great filter (all three of these are) and I would say it's the 'safest' of the three. My memory is that the Chroma and Proton 4 got a lot of reviews in the realm of "I don't usually like filters or struggle with them, and I found this one very musical and easy to work on." I think it tends to be the most subtle in a mix - not that it can't get weird/dramatic. The extremes of the Chroma and Proton 4 all still sound very usable. The extremes of the controls moving backward through the WL and GR get more out there and require more taming.

I believe that particular one did sell for the asking price. The closed listing doesn't show that the seller was accepting offers. I may be wrong, but I've generally seen that if an item sells for the asking price but had an "offers" option, it will at least show "Offers - 0".

There's a price guide when there are active listings for a specific pedal. The price guide tells you exactly what they sold for. Unfortunately, there are no active Chromatron listings. Here's one for the Proton:

Erratic switching behaviour on Octabvre MKIII? Wait, is this for the previous run or for the upcoming run with the ghost finish? Technical update says "first production run". Does that mean first ghost finish production run or the first MKIII production run?

Finally had time to play with my pedalboard and my new Octrabvre today.

And as my luck recently would have it, my Octabvre sub switch is acting, well, erratically. Bypass switch seems to work fine and switches on and off when you press it, but the sub switch sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Meaning, sometimes I can turn it off or on, and sometimes it doesn't respond.

I made a video of it and I'm sending it to Spencer now. Not sure what to think, might be the technical update that I was worried about but everyone said "naaaah, it's gotta be the old batch". Old batch huh?

Lol but yea, check how your switches function guys.

Yeah I know, that's what I was quoting.
We all thought it was for the first production run of the older pedals, but it could be the same thing, I guess.

A piece of painters tape isn’t going to hurt anything. It might be faster to do that than wait for a response.

No wonder he's hung onto to those enclosures, it's not a shell like most. That must prevent ground on the reverse side of the board, or add clearance

People also create sales threads on reverb (and possible here) to justify another high sales post. "Well the price on reverb is..." "so that's what I'll price mine at" - all the while both sales posts were from the sale person. You can even see two of the sales post above are the same store, Bomb.. the carpet even matches in the photo.
